MY wife and I are planning our 3rd trip back to WDW. the 1st time we stayed at AS Movies and last year we stayed at Beach Club, We loved the location of BC and all it had to offer. We are debating on looking at different options, we are a family of 5 so our locations are limited to a degree. I prefer the BC because of location, but we have talked about Poly, or Wilderness, Any thoughts??

Location (ie proximity to your favorite parks/attractions) is one consideration. Another would be the economics/affordability of accomodations. There's a hell of a difference in cost between ASM and BC.

In the end it's about what you are looking for. Many of us use rooms as a place to just shower and sleep. Others of us are more into the whole resort theming. Don't get me wrong, if we could afford to stay at the WL or Poly or BC every time we probably would, but the reality of it is $$$'s play into it somewhere. We've stayed at OKW, BC and WL before. The last couple of times at the world we stayed at POP and we had just as good of a time.

For an affordable option, you may want to consider Port Orleans Riverside. It's a great resort, and their standard rooms sleep 5.

If you have younger children, definitely consider a suite at Art of Animation. We stayed there in October, and we were really impressed with the resort. The theming is awesome and my children were over the moon about staying there. The suites also have 2 bathrooms which I imagine would be a huge plus for a family if five.

As far as mods goes ( stayed at 3 ) we love PORS. But all going well in our next trip in 2014 we are going for WL. You really need to sit down and discuss the pros & cons and make the final choice yourselfs ;)

Yeah, it's tough, because it really depends on what you want to do on your trip and what your tastes are. We often stay at the Poly primarily because we just like it, but a huge bonus for us is the monorail service. We spend a lot of time at MK and Epcot and we have a small child so having the monorail right there is a nice plus -- our son is at an age right now where just riding the monorail is a thrill for him. I also like having such easy access to the other loop resorts, and we often eat at or shop at the Grand or Contemporary on our trips.

I've stayed at Yacht/Beach several times, too, and they have tons of nice amenities. I wouldn't necessarily say one place is "better" than another, they're just different experiences, so it depends on what you're looking for.

Some things to ask yourself that might help you narrow it down:
What parks do you guys spend most of your time in? Do you care about how often you take the buses versus boats/monorails? What kind of places do you like to eat on your trips? Do you plan to take a day or two where you don't go to the parks? If so, what do you like to do on your "off" days? Does the motif of a particular resort appeal to you more than the others?

Our first choice is BWV then WLV. We stayed at the poly because my wife stayed there as a child. We all hated the place will never stay there again. Our only choice if we had to stasy on the monorail would be the GF

I don't get the point of the thread. Who says you should change resorts?

And if you aren't sure about where you're going, how could you change? Don't you have to make a decision before changing it?

I'm confuzzled.

BC is worlds apart from ASM. What are you looking for? A place to crash and shower? A place that has amenities? You really would need to determine what it is you are looking for in a resort, and then pick the theming from there.

I would love to stay at the Beach Club but my wife and son will only stay at a magic Kingdom area resort. if you want to try something different go for it, if not discuss with the family and return to BC/YC. BTW Wilderness is great but only sleeps 4.

We're splitting for the 1st time ever our next trip. First half of the trip will be POR Royal Room, Second half of trip is WL. My husband wanted WL all the way, but I know my daughter will love the Royal Room, and I just can't see spending a ton of money on a Deluxe for our whole trip. We used to do Contemporary as a child, but I wasn't footing the bill! It's all what's 'worth it' to you! This trip was half about cost, half about trying to make all family members happy. You'll have an amazing time no matter what!

I too am kind of confused about the point of this thread. do you WANT to change resorts? Is BC missing something you are looking for? Perhaps if you gave us more of what you want in a resort we can steer you in a direction?
