EPCOT Why no New Updates to EPCOT?

I wonder if they will take a page from the Tokyo playbook and add a couple of new countries they can put behind an additional paywall...Build a cul-de-sac of beautifully designed country pavilions with premium attractions and stellar dining...for an additional $129.95 (Dynamic Pricing Applies) Guests could visit "World Springs" by reservation only...

They can say that to make it completely culturally accurate they have put the pavilion in a remote part of EPCOT that visitors aren't allowed to visit - new land for cheap!

It would though be an interesting restaurant concept, to say the least. Merch would probably do well, too.

The EPCOT I loved is dead. There is no denying it now.

It was dead before the entrance tombstones were erected. The World's fair theme of world showcase is still there, but still focused on Western complimentary countries.

The frustrating thing is Disney continues to act as though the premise has not changed and that somehow their ambitions for EPCOT are the same as they were in 1982 despite making it painfully obvious that that is just PR fluff as they add a Guardians Of The Galaxy roller coaster to the former Future World and shoehorn in as many character based attractions into World Showcase as possible. The EPCOT I loved is dead. There is no denying it now.

The real question they should have asked around 2001 was to gather round and ask...How do you celebrate the 21st century now that it's here?

Probably, seeing as how long the wand stayed It is obvious they really were not thinking about how to proceed after the Millennium Celebration.

Well in Disney’s defense, the world WAS supposed to end when our computers couldn’t handle turning over from 1999 to 2000.
