Why No Love For The Lion King????

I don't know but The Circle of Life, new AoA rooms, Raffiki's planet watch, scene in Philharmagic and The Festival of the Lion King are a well saturation of The Lion King. I don't believe every attraction needs a ride. I mean honestly what would the ride be? Just an idea for a theme is not enough there needs to be a story the fits with the type of ride. I was a massive Lion King fan as a kid and still am. The problem is it went into the vault before the next generation could enjoy it. My boyfriends niece who is 10 didn't even know the Lion King was a movie the always thought it was a Broadway show because it is the only form they have ever seen it in.

Also I always thought the Safari was suppose to be an attraction inspired by the Lion King as well as Walt's love for animals. I would rather have a safari and get to see the real animals from The Lion King then see an animatronic version of it.

Off topic but what's with all the Stitch hate? His attraction may not be the best but little kids love it (never a wait but the kids around us had a blast) and the movie is great for kids. Stitch is one of my favorites and he has what 1 attraction and then character appearances. Doesn't seem like he has this great pull that people think he does.

I honestly don't think any of the Disney Renaissance features got the attractions they deserved and that includes The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King.

The Little Mermaid is finally getting a worthy attraction over 20 years after the fact, the Beauty and the Beast show at DHS should have gotten a few cues from its Broadway counterpart, Aladdin relegated to a cheap spinner is an insult (the show at DCA is fantastic, though) and for what The Lion King represents in the Disney cannon, it should have its own Pride Rock complete with animatronic-filled water ride.

Not sure what happened during that era but I'm glad Disney making up for some of that lost ground now.

Would it be like Matterhorn just filled with Lion King animatronics instead of the yeti? I'm confused how the water would work with Pride Rock though but I guess people would just buy it as a choice to make the cars move.

Haha. I've just always imagined a boat ride with set pieces from the film and songs.

Im sure its been talked about before but how has a movie with such a following and massive popularity and a movie that had a lot of pressure on it being Disney's first hand drawn movie for many number of years have such a small presence in parks???

No, it wasn't "Disney's first hand drawn movie for many number of years." The Lion King premiered in 1994. The Little Mermaid premiered in 1989 and Aladdin premiered in 1992. That seems like a good pace.

And wdw a 4 park resort has only a show!!
Let's not forget the show in Epcot (the name of which escapes me for some reason).

Because there is nothing in TLK that relates to Stitch, Pixar, or princesses.

I totally agree! Don't get me wrong...enjoy the Pixar films...but starting to get a little nauseous everytime someone brings up Pixar in the parks. Why don't we just turn the whole resort into Pixar...that would make things much better...

Crush Dude!

Back from WDW!Counting down to DLP in November!

In Paris the show has been closed for a few years!

Disneyland has no real showing of it!

And wdw a 4 park resort has only a show!!

Surely a dark ride would work perfectly for this movie! And i know maybe Beauty and The Beast would be a little more deserving but with the love its receiving in the FLE maybe a dark ride on the Lion King would be a great idea esp with it returning to theatres shortly??

Sorry for the rant but this is my Fave Disney Movie and belive it deserves a much bigger presence in Parks than a few random mentions and 1 show???

Any thoughts???

I dont really have a problem with how Disney handles TLK. I dont think than Disney can do more with it than feature shows. A dark ride is a good idea but the question is where would they put it at? Thats the only thing thats hard about a TLK dark ride.

Its probably one of my fave Disney movies as well but I think Disney is managing TLK situation pretty well. I like your thinking about a dark ride but you know, who knows what they could do and where they can put it.

I feel the same way about a possible dark ride for Aladdin or Up. I just dont know what they could do for those two films, I like them a lot but it leaves me with a lot of questions. I dont see how they can do an Up ride and while I know it only came out 2 years ago, its one of my favorite Disney movies, its the total package imo. Aladdin is the same way imo; I know Aladdin has "The Magic Carpets of Aladdin" but thats a ride that a) I would get sick on (literally) and b) Is designed for the younger crowd. Maybe Aladdin could get a Peter Pan type ride (I think that'd be cool) but at this point, Im ranting.

Sorry for all the extra junk man.
