Why no love for the Backlot Tour?

The amount of space wasted on BLT & LMA could probably be used to make a good 4 or so attractions. Just sayin'... Either way I can see the BLT going away as Pixar Place expands.

The whole park is surrounded by green. They don't need to remove attractions to add new ones. The park is sparse as it is. And there is plenty of room for expansion. The degradation of the Backlot Tour is a combination of management (not just TDO, but the entire company) (1) not knowing/enforcing the park's themeing and original design and (2) not caring as long as you buy tickets.

I love the backlot tour. I wish they would update it. I miss the old studio with the houses. You can thank lights, motor, action for that...

"Not caring as long as you buy tickets" is exactly right. Unfortunately these days, Disney likes to take the Reactor strategy when it comes to making decisions for their U.S. parks. Granted, there have been some steps in the right direction (TS Midway Mania, minor refurbs to Pirates, Haunted Manion, Space Mountain). However, the only reason Disney is doing anything in regards to the Fantasyland expansion is because of Harry Potter at Universal forcing them to come up with something new and exciting. There is no way Disney would have done the Fantasyland expansion without Harry Potter. Another example is California Adventure at the Disneyland resort. This park was dead for years which has led Disney to pour over a billion dollars into renovations and new attractions. All four parks at WDW get steady attendance, so why refurbish the Backlot Tour...or other attractions that desparately need it like Carousel Of Progress?
