Why no Bambi?

I don't like Bambi the film, but it's generally considered to be a great achievement for Disney.

So why is Bambi conspicuous by his absence in the Disney theme parks. Aside from bits of topiary and the odd appearance in a fireworks show there is very little.

Thumper gets some meet and greets but really, as a film, is is poorly represented across all the theme parks.

I understand Thumper will feature in one of the Shanghai attractions.

So, why no Bambi?

Yes
It's kind of hard to make a theme park representation of a film so entrenched in nature to the point of not having a single human appear on screen. I think it would kind of defeat the purpose of the movie.

I still think Flower and Thumper should come back, but not much beyond that even though I love the movie.

It's a classic, but I don't think kids these days know about it or parents don't want to watch it. I've actually never walked around the parks and wondered by aren't there any characters from Bambi present. I think it's just one of those films that is kind of forgotten.

The only way it would work....They would have to "Modify" A Reindeer costume they use at DL..It's the only one that looks like Adult Bambi...

Lol...I was going to say it would be tough to turn a character that walks around on 4 legs into a 2 legged character...but they did a good job with Pluto.

I think it would be weird, but I'd still get a picture with him lol.

The same reason why Frollo is represented in villain parties, but you can't find Quasimodo anywhere.
The same reason why Baymax has a meet and greet, but not Hiro.
The same reason why Baloo has a meet and greet, but not Mowgli.
The same reason why Rafiki has a meet and greet, but not Simba.
The same reason why Russell and Dug have a meet and greet, but not Mr. Fredricksen.

...And once I find that reason..... I'll let you know...

True, I'm surprised Flower didn't return to the parks since Thumper returned for Bambi 2 promotion at AK in 2007. Flower hasn't been seen since the 70's.

Well, same could be said for every animated Disney character. You simply can't have them all there or it would be too overwhelming. Some are more popular than others and some are just pushed in your face more than others (*cough* Frozen *cough*).

True, but the question was more based on the fact that I've recently watched Bambi and done some internet research about its background and legacy. All the reviews will tell you what a masterpiece it is; the fact that 'Man' is one of the greatest Disney villains; that the death of Bambi's mother is a shared traumatic incident for a whole generation of adults and yet there is hardly anything in the theme parks reflecting this legacy.

Because the theme parks aren't some award show.

Well, indeed, but it just struck me as odd seeing as Snow White, Pinocchio and Dumbo all have presence in the parks and even the Three Cabelleros. With the obvious exceptions of the 'compilation' films the next animated feature to seem invisible at the parks is Lady and the Tramp, and even that has a restaurant at WDW. Even The Sword in the Stone has 'the sword in the stone' as Disneyland and Disneyland Paris. It just seems that from the early period it's an odd exclusion.
