Pete is a classic disney character and has been around for ever with the old VIP cartoons and even Goof Troop. I wonder why he isn't a meet and greet character and I wonder if he ever was. Does anyone know?

I'm trying to think of any "bad guy" characters in meet & greets at the parks... The only ones I can think of are Hook & Smee. I don't think they want to scare kids, so bad guys aren't out there meeting with kids usually.

I'm sure someone who knows more than I [it wouldn't be hard] will jump in...

Why isent pete a character

If your looking for Pete from the goof troop the only place your going to find him is at his garage. (Pete's Garage), wich is a restroom in Mickey's toontown fair. Though he is not there in costume there is a good picture of him and above the sign to the restroom.

I was thinking about Pete from Pete's Dragon, too.

Does Pete make an appearance at the MNSSHP? I know that the *evil* characters have more of a presents there, wasn't sure if Pete ever came out.

Pete is actually older then Mickey. He is the longest-running Disney character, Pete has been a villain from the early days of the "Alice Comedies" in 1925, all the way to "A Goofy Movie" in 1995 -- a span of 70 years! Also known as Peg Leg Pete and Black Pete, this gruff, catlike character soon became better known as Mickey Mouse's, and later Donald Duck's, primary nemesis. Since "Steamboat Willie," Pete has appeared in 31 cartoons. In the earliest cartoons he had a peg leg, but that was dispensed with in his later appearances when the animators found it too hard to handle in the stories.

But I would love to see him out and about also.

Yep! And the animators could never remeber what leg was peg, so in some cartoons, it switches sides between scenes and enterances. I don't even know if a costume exists for him...

Pete? Maybe?

Pete is starting to make a comeback to a point where children may know who he is. He does appear as somewhat of a villian on the Playhouse Disney Mickey's Club house. With the popularity of the show (my 3yr old loves it) he just might start making a comeback. That of course is based on if there is a Pete costume.

We discussed this topic a little while ago, i think that it was deemed that Disney didn't want mickeys enemy walking around the park but this was quickly dismissed due to the disney villains characters.

the discussion might be still available. personally i would welcome any new characters into the parks

There are alot of badguy characters at wdw. Jafar, Foulfellow and his sidekick from Pinnochio, the wicked witch form Snow White, Malefacient from sleeping beauty, Sheriff of nottingham and Prince John. I have pictures of most of them if anyones interested I could post some.

Maybe Pete isn't around because he's setting up housekeeping in the new area where the Disney villians will live thus making himself founder and mayor of the new town. :drevil:

This must be the slowest construction project ever....even slower than the "Crazy Horse" monument in South Dakota.

They do have evil characters every now and then (i.e. Capt. Hook and Smee, Cruella, the evil hag from Snow White, Honest John from Pinocchio). But I don't think I have ever seen Pete out in the park, even in the villian show at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. I don't think [highlight over this "spoiler" so kids don't see] that they could make a costume with Pete's body type, it would be weird, but I could be wrong
The only thing that is Pete is Pete's Garage in Mickey's Toon Town Fair, which is really just a bathroom.
