Why is WDW so bad at utilizing their space while Disneyland (with much less space) is so good at it?

I went to MK in July and I’m going to DL and DCA in a few weeks.

I LOVE the MK. The castle is amazing, the Haunted Mansion is better, the Jungle Cruise is better, they still have the Country Bears, and I always am able to ride Space Mountsin multiple times without ridiculous waits at the MK.

That being said, Disneyland is by far the beat domestic Disney theme park. It’s got the classics, it’s got 4 major DHS attractions, it’s got multiple unique dark rides, it still has TSI and the subs, it has the best domestic POTC, IASW, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Tiki Room, Railroad, etc.

Plus you can walk across the plaza and get a “best of” Disney attractions that DL doesn’t have over at DCA.

I live in Arizona. I love being able to drive to DL, stay in an inexpensive hotel within walking distance, buy 2 day park hopper passes, and essentially get to experience a great Disney vacation.

Is it?
Remove nostalgia and is Mr toads a good ride? Are the subs really enjoyable? Wheres the people mover? Country Bears? Tom sawyers island isnt as good as WDWs. COP? Sky buckets (ok wdw doesnt have theirs either)
Remove nostlagia and alot of the fantasyland rides would not be held in as much esteem.
Story book canal rides?

Dont get me wrong I am not voting in either direction they are both amazing, just pointing out the other side, that disneyland hasnt kept its park history totally.

Mr Toad along with other classics in Fantasyland are based on movies that we watched. This is why we enjoy those rides, and the animatronics are quite often very good. Think Snow White and the transformation of the Queen. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride has that ending we all talk about. But it isn't just that it is the quantity of rides in Disneyland that makes it #1. Magic Kingdom could have easily done this had it wanted to. Perhaps that's the thing, Walt only created Disneyland and the rest are copies and inspirations of it. Roy did a great job with WDW but there is a reason Disneyland is still #1. For example, Pirates is better in Disneyland. Pirates in WDW could easily be as long and winding as DL's version but it isn't. No reason why, other than maybe they were rushing it. But there is the blessing of space for them to do this. In Disneyland the reason Pirates has that sudden drop is not because it was added for fun but because they needed it so they could build underneath the building above it. That's brilliant, and that is a more bang for your buck type of thing.

I wish they had kept Country Bears and such, but if Disneyland gets rid of something it is because they don't have the space for it. WDW does not have that excuse. I love both parks and both have things that the other doesn't, but Disneyland is still king here. And I love the Storybook Canal ride.

WDW has the space to expand-- keep classic attractions and build new --they choose not to because it would require hiring more staff ($$$$$)and increasing the maintenance budget ($$$$). Increased capacity would impact their LL charging(lost profits) as wait times would probably go down with more capacity.

With all the LL's people spend and prices on tickets and merch this era you'd think they be making money for the parks but instead using people to pay off their Hulu debts! 🤮

Of course the domestic parks have been the cash cow for all of Disney failed business purchases and failed movies. Just think what WDW would be like if all that money stayed in the parks
