why is jiminy cricket missing through out the parks?

Have you seen people's behavior at the parks? The leaderships grabbing of cash? Somebody stuffed that cricket in a trash can awhile back.

lol.... fair point. as an arbiter of ethics, Jiminy might be less than pleased with how Disney leadership handles the parks... and the guests brawling in them

Jiminy is still very relevant. But like many of the characters Disney holds back, he isn’t seen regularly except for special events. He used to be found in MK and AK on a consistent basis but then a few years ago he started to appear less and less. I once got a special B day party for my DW and arranged for an appearance where he’s spent over an hour with us. At that time I was told they had to find a CM who could fit the costume and was available for the time frame.
When we visit WDW my DW has a stuffed Jiminy on the back of her w/ c and I have one on my backpack. I can’t tell you how many guests approach us asking where they can find a Jiminy to buy. And most CM’s tell us he is their favorite character. No one can tell me why he isn’t being showcased. Merch connected to Jiminy is also very sparse and most of the time I’m having to deal with eBay sellers.
I do wish Dis would return Jiminy to the parks on a regular basis and bring out more merch for us Jiminy fans.

It's frustrating because I get it and don't get it. Yes, you want to appeal to the children and the new characters they like. But there's no reason Disney can't make room for all of them. Jiminy is VERY popular...he's my Disney app icon as a matter of fact.

And, one of my favorite stories comes from my first time at the NSSHP where I dressed up as Pinocchio and had a little plush Jiminy with me. Not only did I get a ton of compliments (one of the security guards INSISTED I come over to his line for bag check in because he was so excited for my costume) but during the parade, I had a little girl, had to be 3ish, practically try to climb inside me because she was so scared and I guess I made her feel comfortable, I dunno, lol. I had to look around for her mom, who was behind us and she apologized and I said 'it was ok if you're ok with it' I let her hold my little Jiminy plush and she squeezed that thing so tight, lol. She didn't want to give it back after. I would have let her have it if her mom hadn't already got it from her, lol. Maybe she didn't care what it was as long as she felt safe, but I think she knew the character and kids are smart.

Pinocchio and Jiminy are my favorites and it's sad when they aren't out. They were having Pinocchio (and Fowl Fellow and Gideon) out on Mainstreet in the mornings for a while; not sure what the rotation is now but it would be great if they were still out when I go in August.

The "Let your conscience be your guide" and the golden rule of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" once was important to be taught. Now its every man for themselves. We could use a lot of Jiminy in this world.

I will point out that he does in fact still appear in Magic Kingdom's Festival of Fantasy parade.
