Why is it that I always see WDW commercials, but I have never...

seen a Disneyland commercial? The reason I ask is because there are people on these boards that live in the mid-west, west, etc, and they see commercials for WDW; this implies that the Disney company advertises WDW nationally. Now, I live in South Florida, so is it only the west side of the country that watches Disneyland commercials, because the park is in the west? I probably sound confusing, sorry.:hammer:

Disneyland tends to take it more locals and peeps up and down the west coast. WDW tends to have more people from across the country and around the world.

at least...that is how it was once explained to me.

That makes sense. I have never been to Disneyland, but if they were to start advertising it more, I would probably give in and go.

I work on WDW Commercials quite often. Many of the WDW commercials you see in Florida are actually only regional spots. They also have a series of National spots depending on the attraction or event being advertised. Disneyland does regional spots almost exclusively. If you are interested, You can check out a recent campaign I designed for WDW here: http://www.jivestream.com/sean-mullen/media/IR_Fun_Montage.wmv

All in all WDW is the number one vacation destination in the world, so they are going to have a larger advertising budget.

vfxpro, that was awesome. Great work! If that wouldn't get me to go to Disney World, nothing else could. By the way, what's the name of the band and song that is being used in the advertisement?

We had a few DL commercials here last spring/summer, but I haven't seen any since. We do get all of the National campaign ones:
-The Dog ones
-Magical Express
-I'm too excited to sleep
-The crappy heros commercial
-one from a few years ago that had the guys golfing and not having "fun" at WDW
-Current one with two kids and the boy says he has been to Mars
-One with Walt welcome speech that shows Cindy's castle at WDW in the background

Over in the UK we get plenty of ads for Disney World, but none for Disneyland.

And of course we get ads for Disneyland Paris.

In NJ we almost never get the ads for individual rides that they have in FL.
I've seen an ad for disneyland only a couple times.
Most likely because a lot of WDW's guests come from the northeast.

Actually I sort of did see a commercial for Disneyland right here in New York, BUT it was a "visit california or else...":dazzle: commercial that included Disneyland. Oh how I want to visit the west coast but can't right now!

Thats an up and coming band called Mute Math, they are amazing. Thanks for your kind words. It's actually not the final spot, but it's close enough to give you an impression. This campaign was more about attractions and entertainment that WDW has to offer and less about 'Magic'. I think the angle here is to illustrate that Disney has something for everyone.:sohappy:

BTW, I studied film and video editing at university here in England and WOW that commericial is awesome. Good job! (what editing software do you use?)

Thanks. I used After Effects for the compositing and transitions and Final Cut Pro for the editing. The music was edited in Logic.

If I have anything to say about it I will one day visit Disneyland. How can someone who considers himself a disney enthusiast not visit the park that started it all.

Cool, they sound great. I am trying to look them up, but I just can't find them. Maybe the name of the song will help, what is it? LOL. Thanks.:hammer:
