trust me, I know tons of answers to this...

I do hear that question a lot, generally from people that have never been and don't understand why I listen to the park music on my iPod all the time:D

My answer is always that it is the atmosphere, and the "Disney Magic."
What others have you guys come up with

*I ran a search, and couldn't find this topic, so just delete it if it's a repeat

no but seriously its because you can go there and no matter how old you are you can act like a kid and enjoy yourself and you know everyone else is (or at least should be) doing the same...you can do that at other places to yes...but its just not the same as disney

while i was a CP earlier this year and when i was sitting on the bus going towards DAK for work and we would go over the bridge where you can see the entrance to what is now going to be DHS and you could see ToT....i just couldnt believe I was actually at WDW and it just had such a magical feeling towards it

I've lived three hours from WDW my whole life and have been too many times to count. A lot of my friends prefer to go other Fl parks because of the thrill rides, but to me Disney has just enough thrill rides and is better because of the theming. You are totally immersed in it everywhere on property. For me, there is nothing that compares to the nostaglia and wonderful memories that I have from my numerous visits to WDW!

Well for me, its because every little thing that bothers me or seems to stress me out just "magically" melts away. I mean, there have been times when Ive gone down to WDW and had to much on my mind to actually enjoy myself, but I just love the overall atmosphere of the place, the parks all give off different feels and I def. love that. Its just a place I love, and visit for me.

If someone asked me the question though, I probably would just say because it is. Because chances are they wont get it after a long explanation, so I wouldnt waste my breath. Id say it with a smile and give them a reason to look it up and go.

Here's why I love WDW: I love the fact that it is created just for people to get away from it all. I have never walked into the MK and thought of my problems or work, I can go there and leave it all behind. I love seeing people, little ones and big ones, having fun and enjoying the company of their families. I love that I can be 5 again and wear a Goofy hat and be in good company while doing it. I love the sweetness of Pooh and Tiger playing pooh sticks, Mickey sitting by Minnie with his arm around her waist watching the sunset, I love Mickey painting a self portrait and his hand is drawing Walt (while he is clearly looking at himself in a mirror). I love it all!!

Amen to that.I was a Store Manager and every time I walked into anything Disney related I feel like all my cares are gone and that I can be like this poster said and act like a kid again and just enjoy life to the fullest no matter the weather or attitudes of others around me.

For me it has to do with a certain feeling I get when I'm there. It can't really be put into words, but it has a lot to do with the atmosphere, setting, and knowing that I'm in a place where I can forget about real life for a while.

Disney gets me away from the real world for a while. Whenever I'm mad/stressed, I go to Disneyland for a few hours to forget about everything. It helps...without it, I don't know what I'd do...

mpoppins,

obviously off topic here, but I love that you have the save the ta-ta's logo on your signature.

My SIL and cousin just finished the 3 day walk this weekend, and earlier this year for her birthday I bought her a save the ta ta's tshirt (to match mine).
Cousin lost her mom last year so the walk and the tshirts mean so much.

Just wanted you to know that i noticed!

Walt Disney World, it seems to me, is like a band-aid for all the little boo-boos we encounter in life.

It can relieve

Stress
Anger
Fear
Worry
exhaustion

It also heals familys by bringing them closer together.
It brings hope, happiness, and helps put smiles on the faces of adults and children.

That's a pretty magical band-aid if you ask me.:animwink:

Disney is special to me for all the reasons already mentioned here. Just being there can forget all bout work, just imerse myself in the theme of what ever world i'm in and relax, My very DW and I have been for last 3 years, started when she was DGF and then Honeymooned there this year so I guess it just helps us be us, I dunno sounds funny but we plan all year for our trip change things hundreds maybe thousands of times but WE do it, so why is Disney Special? Well because of that I guess.:)

its the only place you can go and forget real life.its sweet and fun and everything is made for you and yours to feel special.you wont be embarrased in front of your kids because of inappropriatness(?).you spend days on end with all the characters you grew up with.It makes you feel like a kid again.there really is no place that makes you feel the way you feel when you are there.

Disney is an extremely magical place, so different from everything around it. I've been coming to disney world at least once a year since I was born (19 years) and it's grown on me every year. It's the one place my family can be together with no cares in the world; my sister and I never fight and we all just have a great time. The Magic created everyday and in every way is something that no one else can do and it something special.

I love it so much I've decided to try to make a career out of it. The magic and creativity seen everyday in anything Disney has had an everlasting impact on me and I want to help create it. If I can work for WDI like planned and help out with magic, i'll be in the happiest job in the world!

Some people will never understand it, maybe because they won't let themselves fall in love with it like we all have. I think it's a matter of going to WDW and letting yourself go and become fully surrounded by the magic. If you don't let yourself go, you won't get everything out of Disney that you could. The best part is arriving there on the first day and taking that sigh of relief that you're finally "home".
