Why I am already annoyed with FP+

I have a vacation planned for May. To be honest I hope they work out all these problems with FP+ because I don't want to go with all of these problems. Yesterday on a fb Disney group someone was complaining that many of the wait times were incorrect because the FP+ line was backed up.

We used FP for Space Mountain, Little Mermaid, Buzz Lightyear, Soarin', Test Track, Turle Talk, Dinosaur, Everest & Safari...the only lengthy delay we encountered was for the Safari in AK and for Turtle Talk as we had to wait for the current show to end. Otherwise, we found the FP lines themselves to be the same as with traditional fast passes.

I am in the same boat. My parents and sister (locals) are meeting us in the parks on a few days but they said they would just shop or get a snack and wait for us to get off the ride.

What you could do is try to get your parents and sister traditional fast passes to coincide with your selection or change yours to try to match theirs. For example our FP+ for SpaceM was for 10:20-11:20. Our friend got a traditional fast pass for 10:45-11:45 so we waited til 10:45 to ride with him. Tricky, I know, but we managed to get this to work for Space Mountain and Buzz.

Unless I am misunderstanding... because your friend will not be there for the entire day. Why dont you get FP+ for rides that you (and your family if they are going) can do together. Then once she arrives you do the regular FP system which is still avalialbe to guests?

But in reading the forums here and on DisBoards, folks are already having problems getting paper FP because people with FP+ are reserving all the FP+ in advance of the day of the visit. So paper FP are not very useful anymore. Hope they make changes to include everyone, including loyal Disney locals.

I know it will be a pain, but you could add her to your room reservation if she is okay with that. Then the two of you could ride together. It is crazy, though...all the hoops. And worse if you have a room full of people and cannot add another.
