Why don't they use the island?

A LOST walkthrough or exhibit somewhere on the Backlot Tour at DHS would be neat. Only problem is by the time anything got finished, the series would be about over. :(

1. Don't remind me that its ending soon......BEST SHOW ON TV PERIOD.

2. Just cause its ending in two years doesn't mean that it wouldn't be popular, or too late to do. Just look at all the rides based on the movies of long past. They are JUST NOW building a Little Mermaid ride, and the movie came out back in 1989! Talk about long over due......

I mean, look at the Harry Potter area over at Universal. The books are already written and done with. Everyone knows the story. Its over. But they are still building it. At least with Lost, they have two years left to get at least START working on something. Honestly, Disney dropped the ball with Lost in the theme parks.

I do agree that they need to at least have a flipping ABC GIFT SHOP in DHS for merchandise for Desperate Housewives, Lost, and other ABC shows.

The AFI Showcase shop has been selling a wide selection of "Lost", "Desperate Housewives", and "Extreme Makeover" merchandise for nearly two or more years now.

Yep.

ALSO I had a great idea for a possible Dharma resturant; place the resturant slightly under the ground level, then have an elevator that makes it seem like you are decending down several stories under the ground. Outside the windows in the elevator, you could have simulated ground and such passing by to make it seem like you are decending several stories underground!

*drools with desire*

and the ground of the elevator shakes! and instead of dirt you have bubbles! we can call them the hydrolators!! and it opens up into a large aquarium! called ummmm seabase alpha!!....haha sorry had to

They do it for other characters! Jack Sparrow, all the princesses.......its not that hard.......LOL

The characters are more universally liked and recognisable than characters from Lost. You've also got to remember that a wearing the right coloured princess dress defines you as the right princess where as sticking a wig and a pair of jeans on does not make you an instantly recognisable character from lost

And I, and countless others, would GLADLY pay $200 to spend an hour or two in a highly themed and detailed recreation of the hatch and beach with look alike characters.

Seriously? $200 per person for a couple of hours? I don't think many would take that offer up and you certainly would be very hard pushed to get repeat visitors.

P.s. I don't like Lost so take my comments as you will. Personally I'm glad this isn't coming to the parks

Remember the Myst rumors? I'd rather see that any day over some silly TV show.
Yes I do. That rumor sparked my intrest in Disney rumors.

In regards to the Island......There are a number of logistical problems with it. First of all in the construction phase all of the equipment has to be floated out to it. Surely not impossible but it is much cheaper to put a crane and a back hoe in a field vs. an island. The same holds true for the cast and supplies needed on the island during operation. Again not impossible but it drives up the cost to operate the island. Second would be size. At 11.5 acres there simply is not a ton of room there. By comparison the island is 1/10th the size of the TTC parking lot or DTD. You also can not build on all 11.5 acres. A good 10%-20% of that 11.5 acres, namely the shoreline, is unusable. This leave precious little area for backstage, infrastructure etc. Lastly Disney has way too many balls in the air right now to worry about the island. They have 4 parks to run, a major anniversary at MK coming up, the redo of PI, Multiple resorts under construction etc. All this puts that little spit of land way on the back burner.

So far about the best concept I have heard for the island is to convert it into an adults only Tortuga type of place at night and possible a family oriented place during the day. The pirates theme is well entrenched in Disney history and will be around long after shows like Lost are nothing more than a footnote in entertainment history.

If they were actually going to do that they should have done it during the first season, not when the show only has 2 seasons left. and as much as I like Lost I dont think a lost attraction is a good idea.
