Why don’t the Disney survey folks ask actual questions about your experience?

Is anyone else tired of being asked “was your experience at EPCOT today the very best day of your life, or the second best day of your life?” Well... other than the sewage smell in the western gateway and tired of staring at pubic hair when I’m going to the bathroom, I guess it was the second best day of my life????
I realize it’s to create a metric for the powers that be and shareholders to show how awesome everything is, but aren’t they at all really curious about how we feel about some basics and want to know how to improve them?

I've been emailed two surveys recently and there was an opportunity to write my opinions for both of them. One was about my resort stay and the other was about being an annual passholder. In the park the survey people usually just ask for my email and I get a survey emailed to me, I don't get many questions asked of me while in the park.

Never had a Disney World one but the Disneyland Paris one I got the other month was very in depth and took forever and had several boxes for my input which shows Disney is serious about improving that resort at least.

I was emailed a survey on my experiences at Pandora The World of Avatar. Quite surprised I received it. It was a pretty long survey, with plenty of spaces for me to provide details.

The problem with most surveys is that they are not really wanting your opinion... they want you to supply answers supporting their preconceived outcome. The questions are formed to avoid negativity and disclosure of problematic issues. If they were really concerned with how the guests felt about the parks and experiences there would be harder questions asked and follow ups when they got answers they didnt like. Sometimes I think the question they are most interested in is " Where are you from? "

I don't know if they put much value in the surveys, but in my emailed complaints to executives, I've always gotten a response/phone call from someone. Just recently I was called by a Vice President at WDW in response to a complaint. So they care...
Oh yeah they give you a response. In fact I've emailed Bob Chapek before and have received a phone call back. They just don't do anything.

Have never been asked my opinion or experience. I would love to be able too tell them the good, the bad and the ugly of my Disney experience. Then again I wonder if it would make any difference

It's random. If you're stopped leaving a park by Disney research, you'll get one. I usually get one related to my stay at a Disney hotel. Or if I've visited Disney Springs during my trip, I'll get one about Disney Springs.

And your proof of this is based on what? J
The fact that they pay thousands of people millions of dollars to take complaints - - they give money back to customers- -give free theme park days added to Magic bands to dissatisfied customers, ect.....ect...
Disney cares on some level - - - - - - they are far too big not too.

if it's related to the in-park surveys, they just have a basic form with basic questions. To try to type all of the random guest comments/complaints would be too time consuming that kind of thing needs to go to guest services/city hall. Email surveys, I agree, should have a comment section that can at least be forwarded to the department to field those comments/complaints.

Also, I'm sure they get a WIDE variety of things on those responses and I bet many of them are not really worth looking into or changing (like "We couldn't watch the fireworks because it RAINED!! Vacation RUINED!!")

I just got sent another WDW Research survey today, it was about my experiences using My Disney Experience and there were a few places that I could write in opinions.
