Why does MK close at 4:30 tomorrow?

It is an appreciation night for some cast members. If memory serves me correctly it is has been held lately at the Studios but given the condition of the Studios they needed a better venue for that this year.

Still rough though given all the Christmas parties to have yet another short day for guests at the MK.

This is year 2 of the MK cycle. The venue changes every 5 years

Universal Studious does this too, and it is just as irksome. Especially when you fly in, and instead of going to the park, you get stuck at the resort. ...which now that I say it sure sounds like a first world problem lol.

And what exactly do those with less than ten years deserve?

Something...I'm just commenting that it must be tough watching your co-workers enjoy the day while you run the rides. Employees who work all year enduring the nastiness and rudeness of guests day after day should get something. I know Disney gives out pins for years of service.

A petty pet peeve.
When is "tommorow"?
If you make the title "Why is park closing early on 11/30" people would know when you are talking about. At this point not only is it irrelevant it is misleading.

I hope they didn't charge a full day, that would be pretty unfair.

Just like they charge a full day when there is any other special event . Heck, I would actually be more understanding of this though than paying full price only to be told to leave early or pay more to stay for "free candy and a parade"

We went to the Magic Kingdom yesterday (30 Nov) deliberately as it was closing early for a cast appreciation Party.
We are from the UK at the beginning of a 13 night visit. Our logic was that it would be quieter because of the closing.
Boy were we right! ...Mrs Nij and I rode 12 rides and saw three shows/parades plus Main St entertainment from 9.00am - 4.30pm including walk-ons at Splash, Pirates, Jingle Cruise, with almost no wait at Magic Carpets, Haunted Mansion, Teacups, Small world, Winnie the Pooh, Litle Mermaid, Philharmagic and Barnstormer.. plus fast pass for 7 Dwarfes.
Later in the evening at the TTC we were actually very moved, (wife actually got misty eyed) as we watched the cast members arriving, many in suits and evening wear, some carrying treasured gold envelopes, collecting lanyards stating +10 years, +20 years and even some +30 years. There were many elderly with family and as they entered we had GREAT PLEASURE in yelling "have a great party guys, you've earned it!"
They spend so much of their days wishing us a great time it just seemed right that we should reciprocate...
It looked like a great deal went into that night...there were hundreds and hundreds arriving and queues of cars as far as we could see...I hope they had a ball.
Thanks to every one of them... and commiserations to those who will have to wait for their 10yr event.

This was wonderful to read, thank you.

The CMs deserve a fun night, especially those in CP. You are correct it is usually at HS but......MK is fully operational. Sorry for anyone who gets their plans disturbed but there are 3 other parks and DS.
They should make attendance to MK free for ticket holders and then at 4:30 use your daily ticket at another park. I glad we didn't make reservations 9 months in advance and arrive at WDW to find Mk is closed at 4:30. Just another decision that shows no concern for the patrons.

The early closing time has been posted for at least 3 months, so no reason not to be able to change plans surely?
