Why does everything hit unexpectedly right before vacation?

OK, vacation is not supposed to be this stressful, but everything is hitting at the same time and make it such a pain to be ready to go...

1. Work can't seem to find its elbow from its (you know what)
2. $1000 in vet bills for the dog
3. $900 hot water heater
4. Dog completely split the pad of his foot through with the claw almost completely off. No clue what that is going to cost when he goes to the vet again today.
5. I know I can't control it, but Winter seems to finally be starting. It looks like most of our trip will be 60s/40s and wet.

I am still happy to be going, but it is just such a PITA at the moment to be excited. I am just waiting for the next "big" thing to happen in the next week.

For the rain, simply take rainsuits instead of ponchos and enjoy the park no matter how hard it rains. We do that and we can get on everything with no wait.
And thank whoever you believe in it's things that can be controlled. I was diagnosed with a rare cancer two weeks ago. We are suppose to go April 3 - 7 as a graduation present for my daughter. I have surgery March 13th. For any of you who pray, please say special prayers for me that it hasn't spread. This will be my second bout with cancer. This one however means possibly losing one or two fingers and no real treatment since it's rare.
This site is what has been keeping me sane for the last couple of weeks. Now my pity party is over.
Thanks for any prayers.
Your story has touched my heart. I believe that Disney has such strong magic that it can take the stress and worries in life and makes it better (even if for a little while). I pray that you and your family are able to enjoy Disney to your fullest and keep those memories close to your heart. Believe.....and we will keep you in our prayers.

I didn't read all the posts before I posted. So sorry for what you are going through. Makes my problems seem totally insignificant. Prayers headed your way from NJ.

Thank you for putting it in perspective. I lost my father to cancer 4 years ago. I can only know what your family is going through. My issues are stress and frustration related. All of which can be fixed with a big slap of reality.

Prayers to you with the surgery and hope things turn out for the best.

Thank you all so much for your concern and prayers. I am having a hard time, but with the Lord's help, I'll beat this again.
It's been 10 years since the last cancer. I want so much to be able to go in April. I have to keep that as my goal no matter what happens with the surgery.
