I know there are some character lovers on here. Why do you like the characters? Is it because you get a special feeling or relive a magical moment? Maybe it's because you get to see a child's face light up when they see Mickey.

For me it's about about the magic the characters represent and memories that I've shared with them. Anyone else??? Anyone???

I think for a lot of people the characters are something tangible they can take home with them in the form of a photograph or autograph. You can take your picture in front of the castle, or a ride entrance, or other landmarks - but so can everyone else. But when you get your picture taken with a character, you feel special - like you're doing something that only a few people can do. And, you get to take home a momento to relive that expereince.

For me, I get character pics for novelty purposes only. I get my magic fill from the parks themselves - the atmosphere, the theming, the music....but somehow I don't really get any magic from the characters. Not sure why....but I'm glad they're there anyway!

Well, the thing about me is, I adore Disney movies and I love the characters to death. I would give anything to meet them. And the characters in WDW are about as close as I'm gonna get. I just love to indulge in the fantasy and convince myself that I'm hugging the real thing. It's great and it makes me feel like a little kid again. It's part of the whole "Disney is an escape from reality" feeling that I love so much.

I totally agree!! You can always find me in line for a character right along side the little kids:) I have so many wonderful memories with the characters!! They give the parks that extra spark!!

i see it as a meeting a relative i haven't seen i a while:p

no i think its somthing that can't be put into words, its like seeing somthing you love, we all know the truth about them, but all we see is who we want to see, sure we could tell yourself that it just a person in there, but we don't because we don't want to. its more than just a guy in a costume, it is mickey, or pluto or whoever

We once sat on a bench in DL for about an hour just watching kids react to the characters near the castle. It was quite moving actually. However, at one point we saw the line for Snow White disappear when the the kids saw Belle and Beast come out. Sorry SW.

The characters never fail to entertain us. They're expressive, fun, and look great. I've seen other characters at non-Disney locations, and the quality of the costumes pales in comparison to those at Disney. The non-Disney characters aren't as skilled at interacting with kids, either.

They are just so FUNNY!! Most of our best times are with the charaters.

Once time we went to see Chip & Dale in the toon town hall of fan in WDW. Chip not only followed my sister in law around but got on one knee and tried to get her to marry him. When she said no, he tried to drag her away. We died laughing!!!

Then we saw Pluto in disneyland I started to rub his belly and he followed me down the road wanting more!!

In Disneyland when Minnie saw us in our bride & Groom hats she grabed our hands and pulled us aside for a couple of great photos. The guy helping her said it was her special wedding gift to us.

The best times & stories are with characters. I have a ton, these are just some of my favorites!!

I like Pooh because my fiance says he has my personality. I then paid attention to his personality, and he does. He is easily excitable and he loves food. Me too! :p
