Why can't you?

I notice that you can't book a trip longer than 10 nights online. I want to stay for 12 days 11 nights so do I have to make 2 reservations and does that mess anything up or is it fine? Can you book longer than 10 nights by calling or is it the same?

I have done this a million times for my clients. You have to call in your reservation and yes it will be broken into 2 reservations. Either way, online or calling it you will have to have 2 reservations. The best way is by calling it in.
It will work out fine.

I don't think you'll have a problem booking 12 nights over the phone. Booking online is through Walt Disney Travel Company, which may have something to do with not being to book something that long.

If I call in

If you call in your reservation does it still appear online when you go to my vacation or when you punch in your res number?

If you call in your reservation you cannot retrieve it online. That is for reservations made online only.

I cannot pull up my clients on the TA site when I call them in. You must have a different type of system or I am just spastic...:lookaroun

To clarify...

If you book online for travel in 2006, you can only book up to a 10 night stay per reservation regardless of type. If you wish to stay beyond 10 nights it is recommended that you book by phone.

If you book by phone for travel in 2006, you can book up to 30 nights on a Room Only Reservation, or up to 10 nights on a Magic Your Way Vacation Package. If you wish to stay beyond these limits, we can easily book what is know as a continuing reservation. You will need to technically check-out and back-in (basically just getting new room keys) and although the Resort cannot always guarantee it, they will make every effort to keep you in the same room.

...

Reservations booked directly with Disney (either by phone or Internet) can be viewed online with "My Disney Vacation."

Pam is correct in that if the reservation was booked by a Travel Agent, neither the Guest nor the Agent can see the Reservation online with "My Disney Vacations." Pam, you are also correct in that on the private TA website, you can only see clients you booked on the site, not clients booked by phone.

JP Hopefully you can answer a related question.

We arrive at POP on the 31st August 2006.

We have booked 10 days on a MYW package with free dining, then a further 4 nights room only. We booked these online as 2 seperate reservations.

When checking in we will tell the CM of our RO reservation, will they link them together as a continous stay? Or will we have to check out and check in again on the 11th day? If its the later will we have to change room?#

Also will we get any documents shipped to us before we leave. All I've had so far was the initial invoice after booking the MYW package. We are in the UK but booked through the US site if that makes any difference.

Thanks
Billy

Thanks JP! I knew that you would clarify for us. I know that I have had quite a few "continuing reservations" for clients.

When you check in, simply let the Front Desk Cast Member know you have a second reservation starting on your check-out date. Regardless of if the two reservations are linked in advance or upon arrival, you will still need to check-out/check-in and receive new Key to the World cards (room keys.)

The front desk will ALWAYS make every effort to keep you in the same room if possible.

Remember, on the Dining Plan, any unused dine entitlements will expire at midnight on the date you are scheduled to check out of your package. You will NOT be able to carry over these meals to use during your room-only stay, so be sure to use them up.

Final Travel Documents for International bookings (other than Canada, Mexico and Bermuda which are sent via Air Mail) are not mailed, but are instead sent directly to the Resort. This is true regardless of how the reservation was booked.

We have done multiple ressies twice for stays longer than ten days. Both times we remained in the same room with no problem, other than having to hit the front desk the morning of our first "check out" day. I would imagine the only time that you might have a problem is if you requested a specialized room or room location.

The last 4 times I've booked room only reservations, Disney has required that my stay be broken up into 2 reservations. (Booked the latest last month.) I will have to check in/out for the last 2 days of my trip. I was able to book AAA rate for 12 days, but then the AP rate came out and my reservations then needed to be split. Every time I do a survey for Disney, I complain about this. What should I say, or what number should I call in order to get my full stay on 1 reservation? This is the first time I've heard I could book up to 30 days on a room only reservation.

Thanks
