Out of curiosity, I've heard that you can't record The American Adventure. How come?
Out of Respect for the show and others around you watching it I'd say.
Of course, that doesn't stop everyone.

So many people use the flip screen, and it is VERY annoying to see all these little screens in front of me. Also, the LIGHTS can harm the how, as can the infrared beams form the lowlight camcorders. Some attractions are more sensitive to this stuff than others, and it is just easier to deny us the opportunity to tape or photograph. So that's the best explanatio I've gotten from various cast members.
But they didn't allow videotaping before the popularity of LCD screens, so I don't think that was the original rationale.
As far as I know....and that might not be much, most of the times when you aren't allowed to tape something it's because there is a film part to the attraction, and recording that film would be very similar to recording a movie at a theatre. Though many of the attractions feature other stuff outside of the film, it's the film issue that I think really throws a wrench it it as far as I know.
Like soarin` technically I don't think you are allowed to record it, and all it is, is a video.
But you can film Reflections of China, right? What about the new version of Canada? Does anyone know if you're allowed to film that? Seems like that would be the kind of show where it would be banned, since you've got a celebrity (albeit grade-D) starring in it.
Even stranger...you're allowed to film the montage at the end of the Great Movie Ride. Seems like THAT would be the one piece of footage that would be the most legally protected.
they know you will feel foolish when you go home and ask yourself "why did i record this entire show....?"
