why can't Disney move the Osborne Lights to the court yard area in DHS

I saw the WDW post about the Osborne lights and it just made me sad to see this treasure go. Why not move the lights into the big court yard area where the hat was and the animation studio area. I know the loss has been commented on before but is the move something Disney can do? We are losing so much from DHS and the construction coming will be a mess. What a great Christmas time show it is. Are they just messing with us are they really going to can it forever?

As the lights operate currently, the actual technical aspect, and the raw crowd there is no way to move them from their current location.

With extreme reworking it would be possible to incorporate a similar element to DHS or other location. It’s unlikely there would be any reason to even make the attempt. The elements that belong to the Osborne family would be un-replicable for many legal reasons, most of the infrastructure would have to be entirely rebuilt for the new location, and the new location itself would need extensive reworking to accommodate the lights. In addition the new location would have to be carefully selected for crowd control, its ability to be closed off from the rest of the park or area during installation and removal without to adversely affecting the surrounding area, and it’s general usability and layout for the event.

There really is no other spot on WDW property that currently exists to house an installation with the needs of hot the Osborne Lights work today. Now … that’s not to mean that there couldn't be future locations earmarked or even built with such a display in mind. But that wouldn't be on the slate for 3-6 years min.

Not sure about logistics but I thought it would be nice if they could find a way to move them to DTD....oh well, just like how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop...the world may never know.

I think they would only bring them back if they could up-charge to see them.

Sadly, I do not intend this to be sarcastic.
No , you are probably right. Once DHS is finished with all of its different phases, Disney will start to have special events for Halloween and Christmas where it will cost extra. Rotate the days to have it at the different parks.
