Who's been to Trader Sam's lately?

We were there last week just after it opened it was not completely filled. Noticed that individual groups did not stay long. Also try the surfboard table in the center we found people were very open to communication at this table. Drink service was a little on the slow side:rolleyes:. Also check out the TS merchandise, plus the Poly Gift shop. Finally:D merchandise that mainly is focused on the Poly theme itself. ;)

We got into Trader Sam's twice in a week with no wait, the week after Memorial Day - the first time was at around 6:30-7pm and the other was at like 11pm on our way to MK for EMH. It is a little awkward that they let people in "standing room only" when there really isn't a very obvious place to stand. I noticed though that because the bar is so small and so many people do an awkward shuffle to find seating that all of the patrons were extra kind in making room and letting people know if they were going soon.

It's a pretty unique experience and definitely worth a visit.

We went last Monday. Walked right in at 9pm. We had a few drinks, saw some antics. It was really low key. I think I would have liked a livelier crowd, but we did enjoy it!

We were there tonight. Got there at about 8 and were told an hour wait, but I think we waited a few minutes more. They were telling people 90 minutes by the time we got in. We really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to a repeat visit soon.

Was there last night. Got to the Poly around 3pm, no one was in line in the hallway waiting. Line started to form by 3:30 and I was 10th in line. After the initial rush of guests entering and pushing the place to capacity, people were checking in at the booth and were told immediately an hour and a half wait, not even five minutes after 4pm. Makes sense, since we stayed in there about an hour, so you could assume that most parties will do the same, at least.

Similarly, I was there at the end of May, arrived around quarter after 4 and was also told an hour and a half wait. Got drinks and food at the Tiki Terrace and our pager buzzed after only an hour. Like others have said, we entered and there was literally no place for three people to sit together. We initially sat two at the central surfboard, and one joined another party at an adjacent table. After about a minute, space for 3 opened up at the other end of the surfboard and we relocated.

But it's definitely a must-do for us -- we will just always get there before opening. I'll probably be back there again tonight or tomorrow. And yes, the Nautilus mug is back in stock. "We learned our lesson", we were told.
