Here is a question to ponder - who would you like to see most as a CEO. Think business, too, since any decisions will have to be based upon stockholder's benefits.
I don't really know who I would choose, but here is my take on the current options:
Eisner: Definitely out. But my big worry about him is that he is so into controling and micromanaging that he will put up a big fight against whoever tries to mvoe him out of the way, even to the point of damaging Disney itself.
Roy Disney: Better than Eisenr, but he said he would not take the CEO position. I also wonder if he has made too many enemies in Disney management to be able to be effective.
Brian Roberts: Quite a money man, but he has a history of sticking with his company. He also is more interested, I think, in Comcast than Disney, and his managment style is to appoint someone else to manage. I don't know who he would appoint to run Disney.
Steve Jobs (Pixar and Apple): This would be scarey! To much of an ego to run such a large company. It has alredy been seen with Apple when he returned that he pretty well drove many of his employees and many of his customers away by insisting on micromanaging and trying to control everything. I could just see it - you would have to apply to see if you qualify to go to a Disney park. All the rides would be walled off and you would be driven around in a tram and told you had a wonderful time. 10% of the Disney fans would be fanatical devotees, and the other 90% would switch over to Universal.
Bill Gates: I am not sure that this is just a rivalry between him and Steve Jobs. But I can't imagine him running Disney - he lacks the creative drive, and even more the customer service attitude that is needed. I think he would distance more guests and cast memebers than he would bring in.
So who else could become CEO?
