I'm not at liberty to name names, but to be honest, this could go two ways:

A nutbuster of an executive comes in and tears the division apart.

Or a useless figurehead comes in to look for the press while the aforementioned nutbuster comes in and does his job quietly.

The key difference between Pressler and his sucessor(s) is that while Pressler just blindly cut stuff away because he had no idea what in the hell he was doing, there are others who are experienced and *know* what they are doing when they make these cuts. That's actually worse, because nothing is held sacred, and the boss' word always stands.

Very interesting. Also, by tearing the division apeart, you mean WDI and parks will be seperate things, right?

So, what's to keep you from naming names? Come on, after everything you've said on these boards you obviously feel you have nothing to fear from anyone.

If you've got a name, let us know. What can happen to you? If you really know, that is.

No, I mean that the cuts will be so bad that the parks will be practically torn apart. Not in the literal sense, but in the emotional sense.

>>>So, what's to keep you from naming names?<<<

Two reasons:

1.) It's not worth costing someone their job.

2.) It saves my in case someone else gets the job (or when the project vanishes without a trace, like the Soarin ride for Japan. That was a bitter crow that I had to eat.).

1.) Wow! If they can figure out who leaked, it must only be two or three people who are in the know. High-ranking folks, I guess. You must have some powerful friends...hmmm...Powerful Friends. Without revealing your sources, please explain how you have the inside track?

2.) So, you think there's a decent chance someone else will get the job, eh? So you really aren't telling us anything of use yet. Well, no use getting alarmed, everyone!

Oh geez, I think it's time to bail out of this one now before it gets ugly...

Not really. The decision has already been made it seems. Tune in tomorrow when the announcement is made...

I'd have to say Bob Pittman.

He was just let go as 2nd in command at AOL.

He was the guy who dreamt up the idea for MTV

He also worked as the head of Six Flags for years.

He has vision, knowledge, and experiance.

New Management

If I was placed in this position, the following would be my strategic plan for the next ten years:

- Beastly Kingdom
- Disney Seas
- Discount for return visitors to the resort
- New attraction or attraction update every year in every park
- EPCOT update, bring back the fun and technology
- Adventure package for families
- Cost control through centralized management
- Bonus stock option/award plan for employees recognized by guests as the best of the best
- Make Disney Studios a cost effective place to produce and create programs
- Remember that it all started with a mouse

Just a note...

If you want people with inside info to post RUMORS, badgering them usually doesn't help.

Nor does keeping track of "wins and losses".

Rumors are, by definition, not definite decisions.

After all, if Disney themselves can announce Beastly Kingdom, then never build it, why should we be surprised if some rumors don't come to fruition?

I don't think that disney would hire anyone who used to work at MTV or Six Flags, which are verly large rivalries. I wouldn't want anyone that works for AOL be at my company

Seems that Pheneix thought there would be an announcement made today, but I don't think it was.

I'd say sometime within a month.

I chose Al Weiss since I know the most about him, But I would be happy with some one who has been ad Disney for a while and is akind to Walt's visions of creating something Imanigative and original.

I would like to see them going into the vault and reserect some of Walt's old ideas with a 21st century twist at the parks, Instead of some of the mundane things they have done like PW and TS at AK.

Personally

We need some new flavor in Disney some one to bring back Walt's dreaming attitude and high as the sky outlook. We need some one to bring some new magic to Disney without forgetting the old magic.

Ahhh..I think they should do a 'Disney Original' move and put Tony Baxter and Al Weiss together as the new guys, sorta like Walt and Roy, simply cause Tony is a creative genius (I do not exaggerate, he's as close to a Walt Disney as we're gonna get, Me thinks) And Al Weiss knows how to keep the parks running. Eh, just a thought. If not them, I think Cindy would be good..A womens touch would be nice 'round the 'world'. Here's a tereotypicla comment, don't kill me, but Women seem to be able to take their mind of money and see the big picture better sometimes..Maybe her and Tony Baxter would be good together..If we could only get a team...a one-two punch.
