When it is time to make plans to head to WDW who in your family or group takes the lead in the planning? From the hotel to what parks on what day...so on and so forth..or do you just" go with the flow"......with us we all make the choice on the resort..then I take over from there... I just thought it would be interesting to hear how other disney nuts plan thier getaway......

26 days till AKL...

two of us, here

Well not a major family here....2 of us and a cat. But I can tell you that I am the Disney nut between us both and so it makes it easier for me to make the plans. But he is involved....hes a travel agent.....so he does what he can to find the best deal we can get.

I guess when you go 5-6 times a year...every good deal helps out.

So Wilton Manor in South Florida??????

It's Me!!!

I do the trip planning. I do the airline reservations, the Priority Seating, the hotel. However, my family and I discuss the plans first and then I do it all. I also help out for anyone who has questions in my family or friends. They consider me the Disney expert.

i think probably all the people on here are the disney nuts/experts in thier houses, so they'd probably be the planners.

It's me. I'm the Freak who does all the planning. I let my dad buy the plane tickets and I let him pay. ("Let" him..lol) but I figure it all out. 3 days till Wilderness Lodge and Yacht Club!!! Wah hoo!!! :sohappy:

We decide which resort and where we want to get PS's together, and then it's my job to build the gameplan...what parks on what days, when to get PS's, etc. Planning is half the fun. We leave Texas Nov. 1st. I can't wait....

Cheers

I do most of the planning for our family of 5. The wife has the final say so on which resort we stay at:lol:. I usually set which park on which day and let the kids pick the rides. PS is a combo thing after I set park dates the wife works out dinner plans.

5 more days till we leave for PORS :sohappy:

I do the planning since I'm a travel agent.
My husband and I often bring friends or family with us so I will try to gear the trip towards their preferences. It gives them a chance to go to WDW with my discount so it's really cheap for them. It also makes it a new experience for us each time since each trip is geared towards new people.
If we don't bring others, I try to have us do at least 1 new thing each time. Usually involves a new restaurant - giving us LOTS of new possibilities.

That would be moi. I do all the leg work...reading the guidebooks, making phone calls, setting the itinerary, making reservations, taking care of PS, cancelling reservations, question asking, making new reservations, changing the PS, inquiries, sitting on hold, changing the room view...

Of course, as is the rule, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This means that for every plan I make, SOMEONE in the family has a different idea. Of course, when the time comes to make the plans, do they offer up their ideas? Noooooo. All I hear is "You're the Disney person, whatever you think is best" Yeah...suuuurrreeeee.

Its such a pain to be the Disney person in my house :hammer:

For Disney, it´s me. For any other places, my dad suggests and I´m in charge of doing all the work and research  but it doesn´t matter, as long as he pays, I am not complaining! (and he is very good at planning).
Trips with my friends, it´s always me... I have noone to rely on, they all rely on me! (it has its advantages though... ) :animwink:

I absolutely love making all the arrangements and my husband loves to know just when we are leaving it works out well. Although, making very specific arrangments with four kids........ doesnt always work out the way it should. This year I took a different approach... I asked the family what resort and I made that reservation. I also left everything else up to them and we WENT WITH THE FLOW. Let me tell you this was one of the best vacations we have had. Trying to stay on your planned itinirary with the kids is hard and can become very frustrating when things dont work out! I thought to myself we have seen everything before.... I really dont care what order we do things anymore as long as everyone is happy. It was a stressfree vacation. We made all our PS reservations the day before and got into the ones we wanted. I think perhaps later this year I will let each kid pick a day and we will do whatever it is they want to do. Overall having no plan and just going witht he flow worked best for our family!:animwink:

Me.

My friends left it to me once and it took them on an elevator ride and a limo ride in the Studios. Little did they know they were in for a wild time . After doing the two attractions they didn't trust me very much . but that's okay...at least they learned to research the attractions after that :animwink:

May wife and I Plan our trips together.

Usually while we are floating in our swimming pool because that's the only time we seem to able to discuss anything without any outside disurbances..phone..TV..etc.

After all our plans are discussed and agreed upon, I give my wife a loving look in the eyes and then say "OK...that's it...Take care of it would ya?

Then I let her do all the phone calling and internet footwork.

I do all of the legwork (because I LOOOOOOOVE doing Disney research) :D , then my wife and I discuss and decide the final plans. We usually leave it pretty open except for Priority Seatings and maybe which park on which day. Since we know that there's always going to be a next time, if we miss something we don't worry about it.
