Ok So I have the Nikon D60 for the parks which I am in love with..But I would like to get a waterproof camera as well one, that I can take to the beach or have by the pool....I've had the disposable ones but to be honest I'd rather just invest in a Digital one (and I'm terrible at getting them developed) for the water..Also we're going on a cruise and the days that we are on an island I'd like to bring a waterproof that takes great pics in the water as well as above...I would take the D60 with but not really sure if there are lockers to put it in while we're in the Water and I'd rather not take the chance of getting water or sand or just getting it stolen..

any info would be great ...and yes I looked into the waterproof case for the D60 and well...I really don't want to fork over that amount....I'm looking to spend anywhere from $150.-$300...

Thanks in advance!!

I have an Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 point and shoot for underwater pics. It is drop proof, freeze proof, waterproof, etc. A less expensive option is the Stylus Tough 6000. I love taking it to Disney cause I don't have to worry about it getting wet on rides or if it rains. I took it down the slide w/me at Stormalong Bay last Sept. and got some pretty funny looks. I highly recommend it.

I read some pretty good things about that particular camera, I'll check out some prices as well.....

I use a GoPro Hero WIDE. It's primarily a video camera, but the pictures aren't that bad, considering. It's hard to break, too. I'm getting a wrist camera for SCUBA diving and Disney. Use my D60 for stills and take video and/or ride stills with the GoPro without risking my Nikon.

I just got back from a cruise a few week ago and took hundreds of under water pictures using the Canon D10. It wasn't until the last day that I snorkeled that it occured to me that I could also do video. The video came out a little grey because the camera does not have a underwater video setting, but the underwater photos were amazing. I got it for $280 with a floation wrist band that worked great. Just remember to soak it in fresh water when you get back to your room.

Funny because we just came back from a cruise saturday , We ended up buying an Oympus Stylus Tough 6020...This camera is great!! It takes video as well, My girls loved to use it while they were on the waterslides...Pretty cool videos!! I love it because as much as I adore my Nikon D60 this camera I can take anywhere and do anything with it...Its so little compared to my other camera! But its also nice not to have to bring the video camera as well....I always look like such a tourist!! Its funny because quite afew people would look and say "oh miss your camera , its almost in the water" or "Your camera is in the water!!!!!"...The looks are great when people don't realize its waterproof!

Thats funny. I had that happen a few times as well. We took a kayak and snorkle tour and one of the guides nearly dived for it when he saw it sitting on top of my snorkle gear as I was jumping in.

The one thing I will say about the d10 is that it is not a pocket camera. its a little fat to go in a front pocket. Thats the ONLY draw back. Other than that it was perfect.
