I have been to WDW many times and have never gone to the water parks. I'm going in October and would like to go one. Please advise me on which one you all think is better. Thanks everyone.

I went to Typhoon Lagoon two weeks ago and that was the first time I had ever been to a water park. We picked TL because they had the wave pool there that my nephew wanted to try. I loved the lazy river, just look at all those lazzzzy people in the lazzzy riva. Also, TL I understand has more shady areas than BB.

I'm not sure if they are both open in October. I know that during the off-season they close down one at a time for general refurbs. You might want to check about that - I'm sure someone on here will know.

If you like waterslides I would go to BB. It is a look of fun. You can go down Summit Plummit. Or other slides there. And they both have a lazy river.

They both will be open for most of the month. Blizzard Beach will be closed in the last 3 days in Oct. Hope this help. I personally pick and its less crowded is TL.

We've been to BB 3 times and TL 5 or 6, which tells you we think they're both great but we have a slight preference for TL. They both have lazy rivers, raft rides, body slides, and areas for small kids. But if you look at the web site you can see they are sufficiently different that you should go to both if you get a chance. TL has the wave pool, Crush n Gusher and Shark Reef (snorkeling). BB has an area for grade school kids (Ski Patrol) and a chair lift. The family raft ride at TL requires you to roll a big bulky raft up the steps, while it's waiting at the top for you at BB.

I've been trying to decide which one to go to... I will be there the second week of september, so i wasn't sure if it was really worth the money or not?

I've been to both parks, and although they have many of the same features, they feel very different inside. The atmosphere for TL seems more laid back than BB which is more heavy on the thrill slides. Now TL does have Crush-n-Gusher, but it's usually the less crowded park and therefore seems more relaxed than BB. Either way you can't go wrong! :sohappy:

This past trip in July, and in March, we only did BB. We had more time in July to do both, but we missed a day. I would lean more toward BB, I think its more fun. TL is crunk to, but try going to both, if you cant, I would choose BB.

Everyone's tastes are different, and I know many people who go to WDW repeatedly without ever going to BB or TL. We have kids 7 and 8 years old who love the water parks. In a week-long visit, we typically go to the water parks 3 times for maybe 4 hours each time, plus we're at the resort pool for several more hours. By contrast, we usually go to Disney Studios only once for a half day or so. We skip DisneyQuest, Pleasure Island, golf and other things some guests are into.

water park

I've been to both, and can't say that I have a favorite. TL has shark reef, which is really cool. If you have tweens, I would go to BB, as there is a larger area for that age, and they will enjoy the slides more. Most importantly, they both have a tiki type bar so you can't go wrong at either one!

I haven't been back to the disney water parks in years. The last time was well before DAK was even in planning stages and all we had was river country and Typhoon Lagoon. So we went to Typhoon Lagoon.

The only part I remember is the swimming with the sharks portion. I remember the water being freezing and my mom and sister of being afraid to go in but me thinking it was absolutely the coolest thing ever.

Also, do either water park have any sort of water coaster?

Typhoon has Crush-n-Gusher, which is a water coaster with 3 different slides on it.

My personal preference is for TL. Not only is it the water park I have to most memories of, but I prefer the atmosphere there as well. It is more laid back, there are more places to escape the sun, the attraction are spaced out a little better (at least it feels that way), and they have the better wave pool. I love BB when I'm in the mood too go, go, go, and hit one water thrill after another, and if that is what you are looking for, then BB is your park. But for a calm day I'll take TL.

Both parks are great, but like it was said before, I don't know if both parks are open in October. If you would like to experience the giant wave pool, swimming with sharks and the newest thrill slide, Crush 'n' Gusher, go to Typhoon Lagoon. Blizzard Beach also has a wave pool, but it is just small constant waves, not the gigantic ones every 90 seconds like in Typhoon Lagoon. But BB does have giant slides including the biggest in the world, Summit Plummet, however, pretty much all the slides involve climbing up that giant mountain. You could take the chairlift, but it gets very crowded. But in reality, pretty much both parks require climbing to get up to the tops of the slides.
-Hope this helps!

I think Typhoon Lagoon is a better water park because they have the wave pool, a great lazy river, and better water slides than Blizzard Beach.:sohappy:

As with many things at WDW, I think the age of the people going and their personal taste help in making a decision.

If you like a bit more thrills (bigger/faster slides) than BB would be the choice. TL is a little more laid back but Crush n' Gusher has added some more thrills to TL.

I love both, but for a first time experience I would go to TL.

Both are usually open at that time of year. They usually each close down for a month in the winter while the other stays open for a refurb.

We personally prefer TL. However if we get chance we normally do both.
Like most people said TL is more laid back and if like us you visit for 14 nights it is a great relax day to slot into your itinerary inbetween those hectic days in the parks. I love the laayyyyzzzzeeee river here and setting up my lounger in the sandy areas, somewhere nice and shady!!
While my husband likes the slides, he especially liked the new crush n gusher.
Either one you choose however should be good
Enjoy your trip
