Sorry if this question has been asked too often but, between my family and my brother-in-laws', we have kids ages 4, 5, 10 and 17 traveling next July. We have been to TL and all LOVED it, but are wondering if we should try BB next trip. What do you think- stay with what we know or go for BB? Thanks for all of your insight!

Out of the two I found BB to be a good deal better. Provided you like water slides they are superior at BB. I have not been since the addition of the water coaster thing(not gonna try to spell the name).

The only thing TL had on BB was the wave pool. I found BB just tires you out quicker...while TL is just fun.

If you haven't been.. why would you not try it out?

Anyway... we have been to both a few times and this is my take(I prefer BB). Theming is far superior at BB(IMHO). The lazy rivers are pretty much equal to each other just diff theming. The family raft ride at BB is much better (longer and more fun) Kids area is better at BB in my opinion. Also BB has some intermediate(not as long or fast) slides that they youger ones might like. The wave pool at TL can be a bit too intense for youger kids, while the wave pool at BB much calmer with gentler waves. Summit Plummet is pretty much equal to the one at TL. Of course if you want to swim with the fishes or go on the water coaster you only have one choice. But...

you gotta at least check BB out.

We have 2 boys 9 and 12 and their vote is Blizzard. I personally like it better also the only things which we liked that are different at TL is the swim with the sharks and the wave pool but they still pick Blizzard over TL

They're both great. BB is probably better for slides. TL's main points are the wave pool, Crushin' Gusher and swimming with the sharks.

I'd pick BB just for the simple fact that you haven't been. You won't be disappointed.

We have only been to BB, a total of 5 times. Some of our visits were during rehabs for TL, so we had no choice. But since we were there this past week of the 4th because of the amount of slides there we went to BB again. Maybe in the future, we may go to TL, but for now for the amount of slides I would say BB everytime.

I'd love to do the swimming with sharks thing. My daughter is a lifelong vegetarian and animal rights activist though, so we'll have to see how she feels about it.

I also like the idea of intermediate slides. My back is kind of iffy and I'd hesitate to do something that might ruin the trip for everyone, but I also don't want to be a wet blanket.

Okay then. Good to know. :lookaroun

Weird thing that happened at the peds office I work at. Girl (teen) came in with a severly lacerated hand. Was down at the shore went to that waters edge and scooped up water to rinse herself off, felt a sting and pulled her hand back bleeding profusely. EMT's bandaged her said she probably hit some glass and told her to see her doctor. We sent her to a hand surgeon who said in his report that she was clearly bitten by something, most likely a small shark. She had actually shoved her hand in it's mouth while rinsing herself off forcing it to bite her.

What are the odds?
