I can't, technically, answer this yet. But it's a good topic.
1992, we had paper tickers that had to be stamped at the gate. We had to wait in line for the rides.
2000, the papery-plastic-y tickets were much smaller and had to be swiped. We mostly had to wait in lines, some rides had this new Fast Pass kiosk thing so we could print a ticket for the ride and come back to it. It was interesting.
2009, we used our unused days from our 2000 passes but this time we had to be fingerprinted. It was a short trip, don't think we used any FP machines.
2015, we go in August. We'll have magic bands. Right now I think the FP+ is a total headache, how could I possibly know what I'll want to ride in 3mos from now when it depends on so many factors as current line, current weather, mood of my child, etc.!
I do love being able to manage dining reservations online.
