Ditto... if you are going to one Signiture Dining restaurant? Go to the Grill.

Now - by way of warning, there are two restaurants still listed as "Signiture" that don't deserve the title - The Brown Derby, and Artists Point. Both cheapened their menus in 2008. AP is trying to improve - but as of 11/2009, they still aren't there.

There is also LeCelier - which SHOULD be a Signiture Restaurant, but is not listed as one.

Love Le Cellier :sohappy:

Sorry disagree, Artist Point was better than the Calli Grill last year and this, and Le Cellier must be one of the most over rated eateries on property. Its not bad, just not worth the praise it gets.

IMHO of course

IMHO I agree that LeCellier is over rated. It is not worth 2. Brown Derby is not worth a two credit either.

I will say I wasn't impressed with AP in 2008 so I skip in 2009.

I'll never dis Le Cellier, but no... Not a Signature restaurant. I love the food and have had phenomenal service there, but the menu is not extensive enough and the quarters are too cramped for it to ever be a Signature.

Le Cellier is a fine place to eat in the parks.
But I must agree with others, it's completely overrated.

The best restaurants in WDW are in the resorts, not the parks.

MY FAVORITE:
JIKO
(With Citrico's close behind)

Have to throw in a vote for my absolute favorite, Narcoossee's. Yachtsman is my second. Cali Grill good but I thought IT was over rated. I'd also suggest Citrico's.

Sorry to turn this into a steak thread, but alot of people are discussing it. In these boards I never see Brown Derby's steak talked about and I love it! The waittress also told me Brown Derby's steak is rated number 2. in walt disney world behind cali. Do people not like Brown Derbys as much?

I love Le Cellier and cant wait to have the filet on my next trip!! But i have to agree it should not be Signiture if ffor nothing else it is quitr small and it probably does not have the quality of cg yachtsmean or citriccos, even tho i havent ate in them yet, soon hope to tho :sohappy:

jiko!!!! hands down my favorite spot on property- as of two weeks ago. we've tried almost all of the restaurants mentioned so far, and this was a real treat! jiko had the best service we've ever had on property thus far. the food was amazing, and so far from what some preconceptions are of african cuisine! really, really, great food!!!!

i always love the cali too, but your palate has to agree with it. the menu can sometimes be too adventurous for some- esp at the price. however, you can't really put a $ on the view, esp during the fireworks. two weeks ago, we were fortunate enough to be seated in the wine room to have a view of illuminations after watching wishes just before our meal. i'd suggest booking a time after wishes, arrive early, and hope for an early seating. i honestly, love the cali, and could eat a big mac and fries and think about still being happy for the price....

but, my other favorite is probably the most underrated on property- narcoosee's. i really wish disney would take a hint from the gf and find a spot for a place like this at the poly! narcoosee's is terrific, start to finish! a great steak too!!

i'd have to say, the best in park option is the brown derby. i've heard the negatives, but really have never had an issue. perhaps because we never did the derby before the previously mentioned dates. all in all, there's nothing that compares in any other park imo- although we're still trying a few!

one other that is noteworthy- shula's. if you can't get into le cellier, which is likely, give it a try! it's pricey, but phenomenal!

You're welcome. You must be excited. I find the early stages of planning almost as much fun as the trip itself.

Oh me too, esp on this trip as it was not expected, after being to DLRP in 2007 we decided to go to WDW in 2008 and the second we came home from that we were headin to WDW in 2009! For this trip we just decided this week we could afford to go back because of discounts :sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

Ah - but when was the last time you went there? BD USED to have an EXCELLENT Filet - but they dumped it around Nov. 2008. A real shame too - BD used to be one of my favorites
The filet is back. Our waiter cited "guest comments" being the reason so someone spoke up. But I'll be honest, it's so hard to pass up their duck at the Brown Derby :).

Can you let us know when you were there, so we can benchmark BD? Must have been after Nov 2009 (we were there at this time, checking menus in our spare time :)). And the latest menu on this board (Nov 21, 2009) shows only the poor Ribeye (http://www.wdwmagic.com/Dining/The-...llywood-Brown-Derby-lunch-and-dinner-menu.htm) If they put back an honest filet, they may be on the road to recovery...
It was a week after Thanksgiving. According to our server Disney switched back after changing food providers due to quality issues as well as guest request.

I still think LeCelier could make a good Signiture Dining Restaurant - and that most of it's issues (overcrowding) would be solved by making it a "2 Point" establishment....

Perfectly said.
My opinion of Le Cellier would rise quickly if they addressed the overcrowding issue.
'2 points' would do the trick. Much of the riff-raff wouldn't be willing to spend the extra point. :ROFLOL::fork::ROFLOL:
