Which Room at POFQ?

My strong advice is to not bother with making a room request. POFQ is so pleasantly compact that there's no such thing as an inconvenient room. Sure, if you look at a resort map, you can see that some rooms are closer to the food court and bus area than others. But, in reality, there is such little difference that it just doesn't matter.
It's sort of like this example: If you put Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey and the Queen of England in a room, Oprah would be the "poor" person in the room even though she's not poor ... no one is saying it would be bad to have Oprah's wealth, and it's the same with even the farthest away room at POFQ.
I made a room request that said simply "close to food court and transportation." We checked in at 11 p.m., with two tired small children. I was very very disappointed when the front desk CM circled my room location on the resort map ... it was in the far wing of Building 2. It looked far on the map. But we just wanted to get the kids to bed, and I figured if it was a bad location I'd ask for a change in the morning. So we set out with our kids and carry-on luggage, and literally two minutes later we arrived at our 3rd floor room (this included the elevator ride).
What looked on the map to be a room in Siberia was really a great room. And that is my point about how cozy POFQ is ... I can't imagine that there's a big difference in happiness with room location between a 2-minute walk and a 45-second walk.

I would have to kindly disagreee. Yes the FQ is a small compact resort but at the end of the day and traveling with small children closenss to everything matters. We have stayed at the FQ 2x and both times we requested bldg 4. Its close to the buses and the food court - pretty close to the pool and boat dock. If I were staying there again I would request bldg 4. Its a 2 minute walk to the room to the bus stop and another minute to he food court. Thats just my opinion however. Enjoy your trip!:sohappy:

We stayed in building two. Absolutely perfect. Water view, close to the pool, food court, and busses. And it was just two adults who made a request for water when we got there. The biggest complaint, beds are very small, smallest of all resorts. We took our four kids in sept to CBR, smallest 4, and never had a problem, because once they are sleeping on the bus, pick them up and the stroller and go. Have a great time!

At POFQ everything is within a 5 minute walk - buses, food, pool and laundry and the boats to DTD. The only thing that matters about your room is a bed for after a tiring day in the parks :snore:

You really can't go wrong with any area NOT over looking the parking lot. We have had great rooms in Bldg. 4, and Bldg. 5. Always standard view. Our last trip, I was a little worried because they put us in Bldg 5 by the pool. We were on the second floor and didn't hear any noise from the pool area at all! The only room request I make is not by or overlooking the parking lot. You really can't go wrong at POFQ. It is nice and small. POFQ has really spoiled my family, and we have no desire to try one of the bigger moderates. If they would only upgrade to queen size beds...My 11 yr old is getting too big for them!

Our very favorite room was right by there! 5135!:animwink:We were in bldg 5 and were happy with how close it is to everything. We were probably in the middle of the building on the "back side" facing a courtyard not the pool/hot tub.

Go with what they give you. We've had good luck, and a lot of fun, with that system over the years.
