Which Resort?

Out of Port Orleans (French or Riverside), Caribbean, or Coronado Springs, which would you recommend for a family of 4?

Ages= 40, 39, 17, 4

Also, how are the bathrooms set out? We would like to have the shower and toilet in one room then the mirror, etc in another. Any advice?

We prefer the layout and theme of Caribbean Beach to any of the other moderates. Caribbean also has the bathroom layout you inquire about, along with a "privacy curtain" that allows the mirror/sink bathroom part to be separated from the bed/tv area of the room.

In addition, Caribbean Beach has rooms that are 340 sq feet instead of only 314 sq feet at all the other moderates. So that allows a few more feet of extra space at Caribbean.

We prefer the tropical bright colors and "beach" atmosphere of this Resort. The other themes are fine, we just enjoy Caribbean the most out of both Port Orleans (never have stayed at Coronado).

We've stayed at all the moderates except Coronado Springs as well as the ALK. We've never had a bad expierence at any Disney properties, so to us it's picking what you personally like the best - but you really can't go wrong staying on property!!

We LOVED the POR. The setting and quietness of the Alligator section was just so serene! Food court was good, piano player Bob was a riot. Boats to DTD were really cool, and you can get off at POFQ and swim at their pool and eat at thier food court if you'd like. The staff and mousekeeping were really great as well.

At POFQ it felt more like staying in a small city. Everything seemed really close together (to us that was a negative for some this is cool), but we prefered the spread out and isolated feeling of the POR.

The rooms seemed the same at all three resorts, but the trundle bed was a HUGE bonus for us. Our 9 year old DS got the trundle and our 12 year old DD got the bed. I think everyone ended up getting more sleep as a result. POR/FQ does have the two sink with the privacy curtain thing as well as fridge/coffee etc.

The CBR was good as well, but the pool and the general condition of the resort didn't seem as nice as the POR, plus no boat to DTD, no entertainment, and not as many dining choices IMHO. It did feel more tropical and open, but not as lush and rustic. It depends on what 'theme' you prefer.

I know some people love the CSR, but our family felt that if we're surrounded by conventioneers on our vacation, it would spoil the feeling of being immersed in the Disney magic. Businesspeople with name tags at every meal would be a real let down!!

Have Fun!!

 POR for sure! It has a beautiful setting. theres a piano bar. the food court is good. Ole Man Island pool is way cool. theres a nice sit down restaurant. the store is neat. the busses are good. at CB you have to go all around the resort a lot to get going to the parks. too spread out. never stayed at Coronado cause they have a lot of conventions there. Hope this helps. have a magical trip.:sohappy:

I'd have to suggest Caribbean Beach Resort, only because my family and I have stayed there and we liked it alot. My mother and I stayed in Port Orleans Riverside and loved it but it was a good size for 2 people.

In regards to size of Caribbean Beach, if you will be out of the hotel room alot (parks, other hotels) than yes, definatly stay here but if you plan to be in the room alot than maybe it's not a good choice.

Food Court was AMAZING. Such a beautiful walk to the Old Port Royal!

we stayed at POFQ and it was a very small resort, have never been at the others but people we talked to said they where quite a bit away from the pool at Carribean beach,. POFW was very compact , heres a pic of room, the sinks have a curtain and the bathroom is through a door at the left of the sinks

I'm going to really confuse the issue by strongly recommending Coronado Springs. The resort is great -- for all ages. The pool is the best of all the mods, larger than the others and has the longest slide. There is also an arcade, volleyball court, and playground in the main pool area so all ages can be there and enjoy themselves without the party having to split up. The landscaping is beautiful. The food court has the most selection of any of the the resort food courts. There is a table service restaurant that is awesome. THe main building also has a wonderful giftshop and another arcade. There are several quiet pools and there is even a Salon and Excersise facility which none of the other mods have. As to the rooms, all of WDW hotels have the bathroom layout you are looking for. Coronado's only drawback is that it has only one sink. The size of the resort is not nearly as big as Caribean Beach and there is internal shuttle service available for those who do not wish to walk although none of the walks are more than 5 minutes. It is my families favorite mod resort and we have stayed at all of them.

My vote is for POR, just for the atmosphere and the general layout. I think it is more condusive to getting to the parks from there. If you spend little time in the room (as I tend to) it really doesn't matter as much.

We're POFQ fans, the others are nice, but we like how everything seems so close and it does not appear as crowded as the others. It is definitely the smallest of the moderates. The trade offs are not having a sit down restuarant and only 1 pool. We love it.

We've made our decision... POFQ!

We really wanted to stay at AKL again but with our flights, tickets, and other things we will be doing in Disney we figured it would be good to save a little money. Besides, we only use the room to sleep in at night--at the parks for most of hte day/night.

Thanks for all your opinions/suggestions!

This is only my opinion but stay far far away from Coranado Springs.................
It's a convention hotel and feels like a convention hotel.
Port Orleans Riverside "Mansions" is my favorite moderate.
