Which Resort is the most Comfortable?

Just curious about this. Eliminate the lobby, the grounds etc. If all that mattered was the resort's room. Which would be the best for you?

Thanks! I'm booked for POR for the first time in 16 years.

To answer your question about Dixie Landings- it is Port Orleans- Riverside.
(We stayed in Alligator Bayou on our honeymoon and the room was huge. We had a king size bed and it was a corner room! Wow!)

Back to the original question- without talking ambiance and transportation-

Best bed- hands down goes to Swan and Dolphin. Their recently redone rooms feature the most comfy pillowtop mattresses ever. (That is if you can stand the completely WHITE bedspreads- I'm too scared to go near them!)

The rooms in the WLV are bigger/better than the BCV. The beds are even slightly larger.
My DH and I have a king size at home. Downgrading to queen is a killer on vacation.

An obvious point- the deluxe beds are infinitely more comfy than value rooms.

Define your view of "comfortable". For me, it's OKW in a 1 bedroom Villa, the first housing section on the left after the guard shack, with a view of the tee box beyond a pond with a fountain. SOOOOOOOOOO relaxing and spacious.

We just cannot get enough of the Polynesian. Large and spacious rooms with couch (bed) and table and a few chairs. We also like to request a ground floor room to enjoy the outside and the view. Last year we went down for a conference and snagged a concierge Yacht Club room. It was really nice, but not as large as the Polynesian rooms.

That's funny. Must be room arrangement, because those rooms at the Poly are 404 sq ft, and at the yacht are 400 sq ft.

I also love the room size at Poly. They are so spacious. We stayed 5 in the room and had plenty of space.
I remember the beds at POR being really comfortable. It is one of our favorites

You can count me in as fan of the Poly. I would say that it was the most comfertable place we have stayed. The rooms are large, even with 4 adults and one child we didn't feel crowded.

On a previous trip we stayed at WL. Those rooms were so small we felt like we were constently steping over each other!

That's where my family stayed back in 92...but what did it become, I thought it was port orleans, but riverside or french quarter.

All I remember from back then is that it had a huge paddle style fan (or three?) in the lobby, I thought it was so cool.

I'd like to stay there again this trip, but not sure which one resort to book.

Ah yes....Good ol' Dixie Landings! (they should NEVER have changed the name! ) And as you can see from my user icon, yes I love the place!

Name issues aside, Port Orleans Riverside is, by far (for me), the best comfort for the money. I've rarely stayed anywhere else. I have stayed on the "Alligator Bayou" side, but really don't prefer it. Mainly because you can easily get a little turned around and confused simply because of the layout of the grounds on that side. I much prefer the "Magnolia Bend" side of Port Orleans Riverside. All the Southern Mansions, immaculate grounds, and the Sasagola River running right through the middle of it all....which connects directly to Downtown Disney.

The rooms themselves are sort of the typical, moderate-level hotel rooms on Disney property (don't get me wrong, they are great!). But, for me, the comfort of the resort comes from the whole experience of "where" you stay and how much it can relieve you of your worries, your troubles and your cares....at least, for a little while. :)

So, my vote is for Dixie Landings.....er, sorry....Port Orleans Riverside.

(man I'm bitter about the name change!)

We've been to WDW 80+ times and have always stayed on property. Our last visit in AUG. we stayed in a villa at Disney's Old Key West. I found it to be the most laid back and relaxing vacation we've ever experienced. We didn't hear the noise from a nearby swimming pool or the doors bang next door late at night when a late returning family decided to forget about other guests who might be sleeping. We took the family of 5 and found the room in a villa(2 bedrooms, 2 baths) to be just what we needed!

LOL-that extra 4 square feet makes all the difference! :) We usually ask for the Tahiti building-the rooms are a bit larger than the rest of the resort as well.
