Which Resort is the most Comfortable?

Just curious about this. Eliminate the lobby, the grounds etc. If all that mattered was the resort's room. Which would be the best for you?

A Honeymoon Suite at the WL....does that count? Because that room was beyond comfortable! and we weren't even on our Honeymoon! That's still 3-4 years out!!!

I've only stayed at Poly, CBR, and Shades of Green. Out of the three, Shades rooms are the largest, and I love that the vanity area is separate from the toilet & shower. So helpful when trying to get ready.

How would you rate the Yacht Club overall, say compared to some other deluxe resorts that are mentioned more often by posters, like the Polynesian or the Grand Floridian?
The Yacht club does not get talked about much.

Tks.
:)

Two Christmases ago we had 2 connecting rooms at the Yacht Club that were waterfront. It was just lovely, and we would stay there again. The rooms are not as large as the Poly but better than the Grand in my opinion. I liked that we could easily get to the Boardwalk, but weren't staying at the Boardwalk. And the pool there is the best pool on property as far as we're concerned.

Hi,
We've stayed at the Yacht Club, Poly, and Floridian, and while we enjoyed all three, our favorite is the Yacht Club. While there is much to be said for staying in a monorail resort, the "Epcot Resorts" area just seems more laid-back and less crowded to us. The rooms at YC, while not as "updated" as the rooms at the Poly, are bright and comfortable and the staff has been great. And the pool is fantastic! We found the pool at the Poly to be crowded all the time, and that was in May. The boat service from YC to Epcot and the Studios was great, and we loved being able to walk to Epcot. Bus service to MK and DAK was fine, also. Also we could see the fireworks from Illuminations from our balcony. You really can't go wrong with any of these 3, but we just feel most at home at the YC. Our next trip (in January) was kind of a spur of the moment thing so we're saving some $$$ by staying at the WL (and we're looking forward to trying something new), but for our next "major" trip we'll definitely spend at least part of our time staying at YC. We love it!:)

I haven't stayed at the Poly, but have at the GF and can say that I like the YC better than the GF. While the advantage of the Poly & GF is that you are on the monorail which is great if you have little ones, so will be spending more time at the MK, the YC you can walk to Epcot and the boat is great to go to MGM and Epcot if you don't want to walk. The bus service to MK was good now that the bus only stops at the YC and BC and not all 5 resorts as it had previously. I can also say that the YC is more of a real hotel in that all the rooms are inside, unlike the GF or Poly where if you are staying at a longhouse or one of the cay's, you have to walk outside to get to the main building.

The pool at the YC is fantastic, it's like having a mini waterpark, great slide, lazy river a sandy beach for the little ones.

I really like the look of the Beach Club rooms.

The great thing about beach club is that you can also use the storm along bay pool.

The one thing I noticed about the BC was that if you are getting a waterfront view, not all the balconies are the same size, a number of them are just enough for one person to stand out on.

The resort formerly known as Dixie Landings

That's where my family stayed back in 92...but what did it become, I thought it was port orleans, but riverside or french quarter.

All I remember from back then is that it had a huge paddle style fan (or three?) in the lobby, I thought it was so cool.

I'd like to stay there again this trip, but not sure which one resort to book.

To answer your question about Dixie Landings- it is Port Orleans- Riverside.
(We stayed in Alligator Bayou on our honeymoon and the room was huge. We had a king size bed and it was a corner room! Wow!)

Back to the original question- without talking ambiance and transportation-

Best bed- hands down goes to Swan and Dolphin. Their recently redone rooms feature the most comfy pillowtop mattresses ever. (That is if you can stand the completely WHITE bedspreads- I'm too scared to go near them!)

The rooms in the WLV are bigger/better than the BCV. The beds are even slightly larger.
My DH and I have a king size at home. Downgrading to queen is a killer on vacation.

An obvious point- the deluxe beds are infinitely more comfy than value rooms.
