Which Resort is Best For Us?

Hello WDWMagic! My family and I are booking a trip to the world in February and need your help deciding where to stay! We are 4 adults, 2 which can’t share a bed. We would rather stay in a one-bedroom because of the price issue. Right now we are stuck between the Wilderness Lodge Villas and the Boardwalk Villas but, we aren’t set on these hotels either. We cannot decided because of many factors and I need your help.

1) Resort Location? Which as the best location?
2) Room Layout? Which resort has the best layout for factors such as comfort? My brother and I would rather not share a bed so what is the options for us?
2) Resort Layout? Which resort has the best layout for factors such as the main house, bus stops, etc?
3) Comfort Level? Which resort has the best comfort level? Which one is more modern, better laid out, etc?

Thank you in advance! If you have a different resort option, please feel free to tell us!

Layouts are pretty similar...AKL has more options on their one-bedroom villa, so you wouldn't have to share with your brother. Picking between the 2 you listed, I'd pick WL...if possible (feasible) for your parameter of not sharing a bed, consider the two-bedroom. You get more for your money when renting points, if their available. We rent through www.dvcrentalstore.com.

I haven’t thought of renting points, so right now it seems AKV and BLT seems like the best shot.

I looked at VGF and it says that a one-bedroom isn’t available for our time period. I could always call and ask.

I believe almost all of the Polynesian queen rooms have 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa. We had a similar combination of guests on our last visit and that was the ideal resort for us. My 6" DH took the sofa most nights and said it was comfy.

The location is perfect and you get the best transport options plus the gardens and restaurants are lovely. You can request (not guaranteed) the best longhouse for your needs whether you want to be closer to the pool, TTC, main building, laundry etc or want a theme park view.

Also the standard rooms at the Poly are some of the biggest on property and you don't have to pay suite or villa prices.

We love the Poly and are also looking into that, however staying their just a previous trip ago we are looking for something a little different. Now we are thinking AOA… is it to kiddy for a 19 and 15 year old? I (19) would love to stay their… I am a huge Lion King and Cars fan so staying there will be fine with me. How will my 15 year old brother and “older” dad feel?

I also get "stuck" with the sofa on all of our family trips. I am 6'1" and have no problem with it. I find it much more comfy than expected! :D

The POLY and the Contemporary have big rooms with a day bed that is very comfortable and two queen beds. All in the same room of course but the rooms are quite large.

Well thank you for all the suggestions but we ended up booking AOA! We will have magic bands and all… counting down the days!

Have you considered the cabins at Ft. Wilderness?
With the layout, you have 4 beds, though 2 of them are bunk beds. If one person is not averse to sleeping in a smaller bed (the lower bunk is large enough to sleep an adult easily), then everyone else would have the bed situation dealt with. I love Ft. Wilderness, so much to do just at the resort itself, and the cabins offer quite a bit of space for a group. We've stayed in there with 4 adults and 2 kids with no issues running over each other.

In your situation it is very limiting go where you can stay. I would stay at the poly because they have the 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa. When it comes to view and location at poly I would have a lake view away from the pool. I am willing to walk for better view. Location close to mk. What park are you going to??? That should help you choose.
