I will hopefully running the W&D myself for the first time this year too! The race ends in one of the Epcot parking lots not inside the park. There are some rides open for the after party. I think the bigger ones like Soarin, MS, and TT, are open along with some of the food kiosks. There will be transportation for runners and spectators if you stay at a host resort. I don't think they release a list of resorts till registration opens. Judging by last year's list more resorts were host resorts than not. I carry a small camera with me for pics or you can use your phone. They have cast members that will take your pic. Also Marathonphoto will take pics for purchase but they are expensive. Just have your phone or camera ready to go when handing it to CM. There are no photopass pics during the race. @Ariel484 may able to tell you good spots for your husband to see you. I know at previous races the tracking can be hit or miss. Best not totally rely on it.
