Which Part of the Ship???

Some people complain of noise/vibration when staying Aft, as it is right over the engine. Some prefer Aft because of the views as you back into Castaway (and a few of the rooms have larger verandahs in the corners of the ship)
Some report that the mid-ship is better for sea-sick folks, since its more centrally located. Some people hate midship due to a lot of foot traffic, being centrally located and all.
Some dislike the foreward of the ship's views, and find it a bit isolated from most things. Some enjoy the quieter halls, and like being near the bridge...

So, I guess what I'm trying to say is, depends on the person/family and their wants. But one thing is for certain, no matter where you are, you're going to have a wonderful time.
I stayed foreward (right under the bridge, so I could see the captain as he steered the ship into port from my port hole), and I've stayed midship, and both were great rooms. The engine noise in the aft is probably the most valid complaint, but from what I gather it's worse on the lower decks, and it only wakes the light sleepers.

I have stayed forward of the forward lifts and 1 cabin forward of the aft lifts on the Magic. I was fine with either. The aft cabin did make it easier to get to food. :D:hungry:

That's an excellent point. It was easy to run up to Cabana's, as it was only a few decks up!

I have only stayed Aft. I am one of those that the Vibration (on at sea days, when they have the engines going all out) disturbed me at times...but, not so much that I wouldn't stay in an Aft room again. I enjoyed the size of the Veranda (we had beach recliners on ours we had so much space) and I liked the views.

We have been midships on Magic and Fantasy. There was some foottraffic being midships, as was mentioned, but none that detracted whatsoever from the glorious experience we had on our cruises. Not being close to the elevators or stairs cut down some on the noise of other passengers, but we were also further from restaurants, shows, theater, topsiders/cabanas buffets, and getting to the upper decks. I never even noticed the engines as being a source of noise or vibration, but my kids just reminded me of the few occasions they noticed it. It was never a problem for us to sleep through, as we were very tired and full of delicious food each night.

We ended up in an oceanview stateroom midship deck 2 on the Wonder. I was not excited about the location before I got on the ship. Now I think it is a fantastic location! Being midship was central to everywhere. As two adults without kids we did spend quite a bit at the adult areas which are all located forward. It was only one or two floors up to decks 3 and 4 where most of the restaurants and entertainment are, so we used the stairs for that. Going all the way up we never had trouble getting into an elevator as we were getting on when it was still empty.

We have stayed all over and never been in a location we didn't like. As a general rule, midship rooms are the most desired and therefore slightly more expensive, but it really is a personal preference.
