I am heading to orlando and have 1 day to go to the parks. Last visit to WDW was back in 2000 and I have never been to Universal. So should I go to Universal or WDW.

Thinking of going to AK in the Morning and then over to the Disney Studios in the afternoon but tempted to try the attractions at Universal. Live in California and go to Disneyland every other year so the Magic Kingdom is not of interest to me and I tend to like the rides at the studios park better than Epcot. But want to ride Everest at AK and go on the Safari.

I want to go on Rides, Shows are not important - I want mind blowing experiences.

If you are into thrill you may want to do Universal - Islands of Adventure - coaster city there! I like Universal's main park but to me it is a half day park with planning.

If you are going to WDW, then maybe pick one park only.
If buying a one-day ticket, adding the Park Hopper option may not be worth the cost.

Have you seen EPCOT?
Good luck.

If I were you I would do the hopper and do Animal Kingdom and the Studios. If you are going alone, you'll breeze through both parks, especially if you are skipping shows.

As for Universal being a coaster park, someone here in another thread pointed out that Universal has the same number of coasters that Disney has. And even the smallest Six Flags park has more coasters than both of those, combined. If you haven't been to Universal, and your only reason to go to Disney is Everest, I'd go to Universal. While Everest is fun, it's not the greatest. Certainly nothing to plan a trip over.
