I can't speak for Grand Floridian Cafe, as we have never eaten there. However, we love the character meal at 1900 Park Fare. Personally, I think the character interaction is consistently some of the best you will get, and the characters (such as the stepsisters, Lady Tremaine, etc.) are not ones you see as much of in the parks as some other characters.

You didn't mention whether or not you had kids, or what the level of interest in character dining is for your party. But if you like character interaction, I'd definitely recommend 1900 Park Fare.

I have been to both. I don't see them as an 'either or' comparison. If you are looking for an entertaining character meal (buffet with sit down dining) then 1900 Park Fare is the place to go. Breakfast or dinner is up to you.

If you want a fast and easy option while taking a break from MK. You can sit in the air conditioning at Grand Floridian Cafe and eat something a little better than standard park food.

Why not do both?

It is really apples and oranges but... The Grand Floridian Cafe is one of our favorite breakfast restaurants. If I wanted a nice dinner without the "hub bub" of characters etc I would got to the GFC. if I wanted interface with others and wanted a lot of different food options I would pick 1900.

For the food, Grand Floridian Cafe! I love that place. I have two breakfast ADR's booked there for my upcoming trip. We went to 1900 Park Fare for dinner last Nov, and out of all of our meals, this was the only one we were disapppointed with, food wise. The characters were great, but the food choices were nothing special. I would choose GFC for B, L or D anyday! The vanilla-laced french toast is my absolute favorite!!!!

Grand Floridian Cafe is lovely and delicious for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I consider it a hidden gem. Service is top-notch.

1900 Park Fare is a character buffet. Good character interaction, food is fine.
But I vote Grand Floridian Cafe as better overall.
This is good news for us we have res for GFC in July and never been there!

Absolutely agree with this! Grand Floridian Cafe is one of our favorite sit down breakfast restaurants. 1900 Park Fare, being a buffet, will have more choices (and strawberry soup!) however, food wise, GFC is excellent. Their lobster eggs benedict as well as their key lime eggs benedict is the best on Disney property.

We love the GF Café, great breakfast, acutally, all the meals are pretty good, and much better than the buffett style food. The character interaction at 1900 is excellent, so it really depends on food v. experience.
