Which one to stay in?

We are planning a trip in Nov. 06. We want to stay at a DVC Resort but I'm not sure which one is right for us.
If money were not object, which one is your favorite?
Is location of the resort really important?
We are a family of 5 with a small child. Is one more child/baby friendly than the other?

My husband would rather be close to the parks and stay at BeachClub or Boardwalk and while I agree to an extent...the size of the rooms are important to me as well.

We a probably going with the 1 bedroom at this point.

Thanks in advance for all your feedback

Our home resort is the Boardwalk and we love it! You can walk to the Epcot and take a short boat ride to the MGM. There are a lot of fun things to do there.

I've always wanted to stay at the Beach Club, though. That pool is simply amazing!

We loved the Villas at Wilderness Lodge. We want to stay at the BCV and BWV, but they always seem to be booked when we want to go.

Each resort is basically the same in terms of baby-friendliness. The only difference is that the newer the resort, the slightly smaller each room is (we're only talking 20-30 sq ft). A 1 bedroom villa would be fine, we have a family of 5 and it was great - we stayed in the master bedroom with the baby and the two older boys slept on the sleeper sofa in the living room.

Are you planning to pay for a room at a DVC resort (based on your 'if money was no object' comment), or are you already members and asking for recommendations? Just curious. :)

If room size is the most important hing for you, stay at OKW.

If you're a DVC member, try to get a BWV 1 BR standard view. November, in the weeks before Thanksgiving, is a slow period at WDW. BWV standard view will save you a lot of points.

I'm going to basically recap what others have said.

For room size: Old Key West.

For central location: Boardwalk or Beach Club (we walk to both EPCOT and the Studios from BW); however getting to the other two parks is a bit of a pain.

To stay closest to MK (this seems to be a very serious consideration): Wilderness Lodge. It's hard to beat a Boat Ride to MK.

For newest accomodations: Sarasota Springs (I had to mention them somehow, didn't I?) Okay, this is also closest (a walk) from Downtown Disney.

Basically, you'll have to choose based upon your priorities.

Layout and feel of V@WL, BWV, and V@BC are identical; only the decorations are different. SS and OKW are very different layouts.

We really love OKW because it doesn't have a "hotel" feel.

Something to consider with this is the stroller issue. The reason that we stay at WL with two small kids is because it is so much easier to get on the boats with the kids asleep in strollers than to have to get them out of the strollers, fold up the strollers, and then lug the strollers on the busses. Definitely think about the parks that you will be at the most and how convenient it is to get back and forth to them without strollers. Of course, if you are just planning on renting, that is all moot. :)

All of the DVC resorts are great and my best advice is to try them all to see which you like best. A key factor for us is a car. In our view, Old Key West and Saratoga Springs are car friendly while Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge and Beach club are not.

As others have posted, every resort has something to offer so some of it depends on personal preference and how much park vs. resort time you wantout of your vacation.

Saratoga Springs and Old Key West can be very relaxing in their own right and are further out, but you can park right by your room.

If you visit http://www.mouseowners.com you can find in-depth descriptions and floorplans of each resort.

My favorite is Beach Club Villas. The pool there is the best! You can walk to Epcot and the Boardwalk and even to MGM if you want. There's lots to do in that area - great restaurants, biking, Jellyrolls, Atlantic Dance Club, ESPN, boat rentals, Illuminations Cruise. You can even use the pool at Boardwalk if you want a change of swimming scenery. I love having so many choices within walking distance of where I am staying. And it's totally easy to get to the other parks via the buses. Barrie
