Riverside would get my vote. AoA is one of my favorites but your 13 yr old wouldn't be as into it as a younger child. Riverside just has so many good things going for it.

We stayed at Riverside last month for the first time and it was absolutely beautiful!! All things being equal that would be our resort choice.

Riverside would be my choice. I just don't think the AoA will appeal to an older kid. I also like the tranquility of POR.

Is the teenager a boy or a girl? Does he/she spend many hours getting ready in the bathroom every morning? If so, AoA for the second bathroom. If everyone can get ready quickly, Riverside is a far superior resort.

Standard room at Riverside would be my vote as well. I would ask for something close to transportation, as it is a big resort and the walk back to your room after a long day at the park could take extra time. Close to transportation wins out over close to the main building/food court.

Will you appreciate the extra space the family suite provides? If it is important for your travel party to have the extra room and amenities, I say go for the family suite at AoA. If you're used to a typical hotel room and have no issue with it, I personally prefer the theme and atmosphere of Riverside and it would get my vote! My family typically loves the extra space a suite would provide though!
