Which moderate?

I know there's been many threads about this but we can't decide which moderate to stay at. Here's some deciding factors. We are three youngish adults staying Dec. 13- Dec. 18. We have only stayed at values and the wilderness cabins thus far. We are very into pools, water slides, and hot tubs. We won't have a car so will be relying on disney transportation. Also, I recently moved to New Orleans. I'm not totally opposed to staying at POR, but not sure if it will be overkill. Thanks for any help!

Coronado has the biggest hot tub of the mods, and I think the nicest pool area overall. All of the mods have water slides, but they're slow & not very steep.

Caribbean Beach has the most bus stops and for that reason the slowest bus transportation.

My family would recommend CSR in a heartbeat! Besides having a great main pool area, CSR also offers many deluxe amenities at a mod price. CSR also offer business club level rooms now with lounge access.

CSR has queen beds, a sliding wooden door separating the sink area from the room (can be good for little ones napping in a pack n play) but only one sink.

Amenities include a fitness center, spa, free wi-fi, tanning beds, a sauna, salon, full menu room service and a night/dance club.

The resort offers the same toiletries as the deluxes (except GF). CSR has separate shampoo and conditioner instead of the shampoo/conditioner combo at the other mods and values (a small thing, I know, but it means I don't have to pack shampoo and conditioner).

CSR has the largest hot tub of the mods and one of the longest pool slides on Disney property. The pool, slide and playground area is great and all located in one area at the main pool.

Bus service is terrific and is not shared with another resort.

We stayed at POFQ during our honeymoon and loved everything about it -- it was small, we could walk to our room easily and the room was comfortable. EXCEPT, we hated the transportation. We felt like the evil stepsister next to Riverside's Cinderella. All the busses went to POR too and often, bus drivers would tell us they couldn't go to FQ, only Riverside. ARGH. After a long day at MK, that was the last thing we wanted to hear.

Just something to keep in mind :)

I am so happy to see so many suggest coronado springs because we will be staying there for the first time in a few weeks. I have read up on the resort and I have watched videos and I am so excited to try it. When I read the OPs post my first thought went to CSR. After having stayed at Riverside and CBR, I think CSR would be perfect for what she is looking for, according to everything I know about it.

Are you sure you were getting on the right buses? I stayed at PORFQ in October of last year and we had separate buses from most of the parks. I think AK was the only one that didnt but the bus still stopped at PORFQ first.

A great thing about either FQ or riverside is the boat ride to DTD. I've also stayed at CSR and loved it there too. The queen beds are a huge plus.

It depends on the time of day. They have separate buses early in the morning and at night but at some "low traffic" times of day (at least, during "low crowd" times of year), we've been on shared POFQ/PORS buses going to the parks.

I do slightly remember the shared buses to the parks later in the day but not from the parks. However even though it was October it was right around Columbus Day weekend so it was the busier part of the month

If you like the hot tub and water slides, I would pick CSR! Their hot tub is the largest one (seats 20!) and their slide weaves through some nice foliage before splashing down. Also I think the southwest theming is more appealing to young adults.

Yes - almost every time there was a bus, it was shared. And a few times, it was only Riverside, and a POFQ bus would fail to appear. We heard tons of complaints about it at the park bus stops, so we know it wasn't just us. We even shared a few cabs with other disgruntled couples ;-)

I'd skip the Port Orleans resorts because if you live in New Orleans, then it wouldn't be a whole different thing.
That leaves CSR and CBR. Of the two, CSR seems like the better choice for young adults. IMO, anyway. :)

Alot of people don't like CBR but I love it. I love the forest type atmosphere and the trails and hammocks I would recommend this resort!
I don't get the hate for CSR.

My wife and I stayed there a few months back and had nothing but positive things. I completely agree with what folks are saying about the pool. It really is a great little area!

Another positive is I really enjoyed the choices available in the Pepper Market. Personally felt there was a good variety and tons of choices which isn't something you see at the Food courts very often.

I've stayed at 3 of the moderates and my rankings go as such:

1. Port Orleans Riverside
2. Coronado Springs Resort
3. Caribbean Beach Resort

There isn't a lot separating these, but I tend to agree with what the folks above are saying. If it is a pool area that you are especially interested in the CSR is the way to go. Easily the best of the 3, although I do have a lot of love for Old Man Island at Riverside.

Just my 2 cents!

I agree, we were there for 12 days in September/October and only shared a bus twice. We never had an issue with busses or waiting in either if our two trips to pofq, we also love the option of taking the boat the dtd!

I have stayed stayed at 3 of them and would always go back to POFQ. Absolutely loved it. CSR is also nice, but the size of fq wins every time.

1. POFQ
2. CSR
3. CBR - huge, a lot of time wasted walking the resort after walking all say.
