I know i posted I was done with WDW (never say never) looking to stay at a moderate resort, just the wife and I early May 2019 leaning towards POR or POFQ have read posts saying people like both. Any thoughts on the other moderates? Plan on spending alilltle more time in the resort noon to late afternoon and then go back to the parks

Riverside is our preferred moderate, though many will argue for French Quarter. Both are connected by a walking path along the river (which I HIGHLY recommend taking at least once, as it's lovely!) so you can easily explore the amenities of both. Coronado is also very nice and I feel the quality of the rooms is slightly above that of the other moderates (ie, wooden doors to separate the bathroom/bedroom, as opposed to a curtain). We stay at Coronado whenever Riverside is booked, but definitely prefer the quiet, laid back ambiance of Riverside. We've not stayed at Caribbean Beach but have walked the resort (we used to live locally, so walking the resorts was something we did for fun) and were not terribly impressed with the amenities. The main issue with Coronado and Caribbean Beach is that both are under heavy construction at the moment. Perhaps someone else can chime in with whether that will be finished by May 2019, as I'm not sure. Hopefully this helps your decision-making!

I have stayed at several moderates and POFQ is always out favorite. Its the smallest and quietest. Great theme as well

I don't think you could go wrong with either of them. Personal preference for us is French Quarter, we find it especially just for a couple a better atmosphere but both very good.

Riverside will always be a favorite for my husband and me. We have never stayed at French Quarter, mainly because we have not been able to get room discounts. However, we have often walked to visit and eat at their food court to get their beignets. French Quarter is currently undergoing room refurbishments and Riverside will begin this summer. I think I read the Riverside room refurbishments will begin in Alligator Bayou section but I don't know the time table. I stayed at Riverside during their last refurbishment and it was fine. Didn't affect us in any negative way. We just stayed at Coronado Springs in March because I was able to get a better rate and it was a nice resort as well. I still prefer Riverside because of their theme, food court, and boat ride to Disney Springs. However, we had better luck with the busses at Coronado and I preferred their main pool and larger hot tub :)

I'd really like to stay at POR myself, but, with three little ones we're spending 90% time at the parks so the value resort makes the most sense. But I :jawdrop: love :jawdrop: the look and feel of POR ... some day!

People say that POFQ is better suited for couples, I've not stayed there so I cannot comment, but I have stayed at POR, and really enjoyed that resort. It certainly has a intimate feel, even for a large-ish resort.

Just my opinion but we really like Coronado Springs. The resort is beautiful to walk around with the different sections having their own charm. The lake at night with the reflections of the light on the buildings is very nice. Also, it has a great main pool area and good quiet pools. Cheers!!!!!

POR Royal Room river view is where my husband and I stayed once and it was perfect! Walking for coffee early in the morning was so romantic and peaceful. We both felt as though we had the place to ourselves and truly got to relax on a vacation to Disney (unbelievable). It was lovely! Can't recommend it enough!
