Well I've priced up all th moderate
Port Orleans French Quarter is exceptional for the price. After many years visiting WDW it still remains our favorite. Smaller so it is less walking at the end of the night on your tired feet. Excellent bus service, central location, boats to Disney Springs and the theming is charming. Port Orleans Riverside is nice but French Quarter is much more romantic and better theming.
Since it is a big splurge try doing 1 or 2 nights at a deluxe at the end of your stay as a special treat and grand finale. Animal Kingdom Lodge is amazing. Grand Floridian is over rated with smallish rooms and a weak air conditions system. Undoubtedly very pretty but Animal Kingdom is much more unique and exciting. Have fun!
That depends on when you are going. You'll find unruly children everywhere though. Just do what one of the guidebooks recommends and play a little mental game. Only notice the kids who are being cute. Try to ask for a most recently renovated room in a quiet area. Usually if it isn't too busy they are happy to make you happy.Mainly that the rooms are shabby and not kept well, the buses are over pacin a quieter area.med and you can't ever get in... A couple had really bad customer service and found really rude obnoxious guests around.... And another said it was just full if screaming kids running riot with parents not bothering or unable to control them. which I get Disney is full of kids, I'm just paying extra to escape the budget hotels for the same reason lol
