Which Moderate Resort?

I have stayed at all of the mods. And I like them all. But my choice is CSR. Mainly because it doesn't feel as big and as spread out to me, and the transportation, The 2 PO busses share w/each other. The last time I stayed at POFQ, I timed it and it took 15 min for the bus just to get out of the PO complex and onto road. It just irks me.
I do like CBR. but it is very large and spread out.

Hi,

I really like Port Orleans Riverside. It is big but if you request a building close to the main building it is not bad. The grounds are beautiful. The themeing (spelling?) is beautiful. There is a boat that you can take to Downtown Disney that is very relaxing.

All around I just love it. Port Orleans French Qtr is right next door and I like i as well but not as much as Riverside. FQ is more packed which can be nice for less walking but I just prefer the theme of Riverside.

Boatwrights Dining Hall is nice as well which is at Riverside.

I like Carribbean Beach. I love the beach part - my daughter loves playing in the sand while I read in a hammock. It's in a good central location.

However, I have also stayed at POR and CSR and both of them are equal except for the beach part. The pool at CSR is the best of the three, IMO.

We have a half dozen threads on this same topic - so you might want to do a search as well for lots of opinions - I think the moderate resort you will prefer will depend on your needs and your party, as well as if you will have a car or no car, and if you plan to spend time at your resort, downtown disney, or more time at the parks or elsewhere. I personally prefer French Quarter as there are fewer kids, there is less walking involved, and it has that wonderful boat down to Downtown Disney. Plus, the rooms are recently refurbished, nice and large, and comfortable. Riverside is always packed with families with kids. It does, however, have a restaurant which FQ does not have. It is more spread out and walks can be up to 10 minutes to get from your room to the main building. It has more recreational alternatives. It also has the boat to DD. It seems especially a good choice if you have a car and are not reliant on the busses. Carribean Beach has a Beach - but it is also noisier. It is very spread out. Coronado Springs has a convention center which is usually busy. The service seems to be more "business oriented" but also better in some respects. To me, it seems somewhat bland - missing trees and shade in some areas. I've stayed at all four -- the only place I stay anymore is French Quarter since it is exactly what I want. As to the busses, I have found practically NO difference no matter which of the resorts you stay at. They are what they are. So, for me (adults only, no car, using the parks and DD, but not spending much time at the resort at all) French Quarter is the primo and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Overall, you can't go wrong with ANY of the moderates.

I really like CBR. I love the theme it has and it has a nice central location. I will say that the main theme pool is disappointing though, but each village does have it's own pool which is really nice beacuse they are never as crowded as the main pool.

I'd have to go with the French Quarter as well, for all the reasons stated above. In addition I believe that, when talking about Disney World, one can't emphasize enough the value of a brief yet pleasant walk.
