Which Magic Kingdom resort should we stay at?

Hello! We're planning a trip to WDW in May of 2006 and although we usually stay on the Epcot side, we want to stay closer to the Magic Kingdom (right off the monorail) this time. Can you tell me what you like most about the Grand Floridian, Contemporary or Polynesian? We've dined at and toured the grounds of all three (and hubbie stayed at Contemporary a lot growing up) so we love certain things about all three, but I want to hear why YOU love them so much. It's so hard deciding so maybe something one of you says can sway us one way or another!

My favorite by far is the Contemporary (but I loved the old 1970s/80s Tomorrowland), but your husband has stayed there before, so you may want to try something new. I’ve never stayed at the Grand Floridian, I’m saving that for a romantic getaway, and I would recommend you do the same. I guess it depends on how old your kids are 1-10 I would stay at the Polynesian 11 and up at the Contemporary, love that arcade.

I know this isn't one if the requested resorts, but the Wilderness Lodge is also a great choice. I stayed there in 2001 and I loved it. I definitely think it's the nicest Disney resort I've ever stayed at. So don't rule it out! I know it doesn't have monorail, but it's a very well done resort.

You can't go wrong with the Poly, its warm and inviting without being stuffy. If you are concerned about going out to get to the other buildings, you can request a room in the Samoa building. That longhouse is about 10 steps from the great ceremonial house and directly between both pools. Also has anyone mentioned that there is not a bad view at the poly. The parking lot is in front of the great ceremonial house so you never have to pay $300 a night to look at a parking lot !!!!
