Its hypothetical time. Ignoring the facts of why one won't happen, shouldn't happen or should never have happened; Forgetting about budgets, rights, and feasibility; Supposing no attraction for any of these franchises existed yet; Which could be made into the best imaginable complete land?

I haven't seen Lord of the Rings or any Star Wars films yet, so I'm not going to vote. I will say that I believe Marvel is way too broad for just one land, unless you narrowed it down to something more specific, like Asgard. Marvel would be better as an entire park, IMO.

I chose Star Wars partly because it's my favorite out of all the options, but I think if Disney were to do something more than just one ride it would be spectacular. There are so many different things that could be done.

I am going against the poll and would like to see something like a "Super Mario World" - my imagination runs wild with something like this. I can see a Zelda subworld somewhere in there as well.

Marvel. Re-theme New York Street at the Studios.

SHIELD agent training (akin to Jedi Academy), Stark Tower added to the skyline, and Mjolnir stuck into the pavement akin to the old "Sword and the Stone" thing, letting kids try their hand at pulling it out.

Character meet and greets with Thor, Iron Man, and Cap. And a large, costumed Hulk roaming the streets, akin to the giant Optimus Prime and Bumblebee characters that now inhabit Universal Hollywood.

Best bet in my mind? More pirates.

  1. Star Wars - Of the five, the best bet. Only pitfall is it doesn't have universal appeal.
  2. Avatar - Yeah, it's coming, I wish it weren't, I have zero interest in it.
  3. Harry Potter - If they could have had it that would have been great, universal appeal (no pun intended) staying power unknown.
  4. Lord of the Rings - A lot of potential, but doesn't seem fit for a family park.
  5. Marvel - a lot of content - and potential - but appeals to a very specific audience.

None. I have long maintained that the best land would be the Pirates franchise. Put it in DHS. You can't tell me there isn't space to expand because there is. There is one catch, leave Pirates the Caribbean - the ride - the way it is and the location it is in Magic Kingdom. Pirates land will be based on the movie franchise which has been more popular than they may have ever imagined. The 4th movie last year was very good.

Even with the large pirate ships alone it would make wonderful theming. This could easily be as good as Potter. They could have a ride in there similar to Indiana Jones at DL. You could go through the water and see Jack Sparrow fighting with Davy Jones or whatever. There are endless possibilities. And it would fit in there fine since it is a movie. Johnny Depp has already solidified that character for years to come so the movies will age rather well meaning the land will always be relevant. Look at the other rides at WDW or DL that are based on movies, they are popular despite the movies not always being famous. Pirates is already popular.

Scrap the silly Avatarland idea and spruce up DHS with Pirates land. Disney owned, Disney bred.

I've never really thought of having an entire Pirates themed land, but what you said makes a lot of sense. Although I still wouldn't be against a Star Wars expansion either.

i hate the idea of a land being only one franchise, not because of how good it will be but just cause the name. Like i hate avatarland and carsland names. I get past that by calling them pandora and radiator springs. I think that land names should fit in with others around it.

Pokemon would be insanely successful.

I'm not kidding.

The merchandise. I would love to get lost in that world. The cities, the forests, the characters...

I don't know...Pokemon had its time in the sun, and seems to be on the decline these days.

Plus the fact that it's G-rated cockfighting and dogfighting.

Gotta catch 'em all!

None of the above.

Harry Potter and Marvel are already at Uni. Don't need more of that.

Star Wars, Avatar and the Tolkien stuff...those aren't really popular enough to do sustain something like that. But if I were forced to pick one, I guess I'd take the Tolkien stuff. Wouldn't really want to see any of it, though.

I agree with a PP. Boys like video games. Guys in their 20s and 30s who liked them as kids would like video games...many of them still play, lol. I don't really like them and I even I liked Mario Kart (that Toad was pretty cute, but I only one with him once.)

I really think that Disney should stop building and just bring back all the stuff they got rid of over the years. A few re-themes, fine. Whatever. But we don't need more of the same. We need what we have to be awesome.

Good call, I should've included this. Nintendo properties have huge potential.

A study published in June 2010 by The Licensing Book, a trade magazine for toy manufacturers, asked boys aged 5 to 10 what their favorite movie-based toy was. The resounding No. 1 answer was “Star Wars,” beating out “Harry Potter,” “Transformers,” “G.I Joe,” “Avatar” and other recent blockbusters. Even more impressive? There hasn’t been a live-action “Star Wars” film in five years.

In the first quarter of 2009, “Star Wars” toys dominated licensed toy sales — more than 90 percent ahead of any other license — thanks in part to the new animated TV series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” according to Toy News online. The Christmas prior, the franchise moved 5.7 million units of toys, exceeding $450 million in toy sales for 2008.

I would love to see something similar to the Tomorrowland Speedway done in a Mario Kart theme - new carts that might be on some type of turntable that might simulate running over a banana peel and spinning around a couple times. Maybe there is a part where collecting a Star or Mushroom might give you a little boost of speed, and not dodging a shell could stall your kart for a second. ( I am just thinking out loud - I am sure most people wouldn't want another Tomorrowland Speedway)

I just think the Nintendo characters are some of the most unique.

I am a big Zelda fan.
