World Showcase is exactly what it means. It's an arch of all different cultures around the world. There are many now, but would you like to see another country put in? Which nation would you prefer to be placed on this cultural side of EPCOT? All others that you would like to be featured besides the ones on this poll are just as welcome!:)

I would love to see Brazil. I've always been interested in the culture down there, but never had the chance to visit.

Realistically I think Spain, but I'd prefer Brazil.

I would have to say Russia, since I teach Russian history---however, it wouldn't be as "tropical" as the other choices.

I'd love to have a job working in the Russian pavilion, if they built one (talk about your dream jobs!)

The food would be interesting---as would the entertainment! (and the gift shops could be so cool! Faberge eggs, nesting dolls, old Soviet stuff!)

But I would love to visit any of the other pavilions, too!

It's a toss-up between Russia and Greece for me. Actually, I'd love to see all 4 of them added to WS. Any would make a good addition, but all 4 would be REALLY great! :)

Spain please!! 2nd choice Greece and one not on the list India.

Hey Doctor Tigger: A co-worker told me that Disney once had plans to build a Russian pavillion. She went to an exhibit here in NYC a t a museum a few years back, where they had tons of Disney drawings and models for their parks. According to her, one model was a mini Kremlin and it detailed Disney's plans for the pavilion back in the 80s. But of course the plans were dropped due to political problems.

Hey Dox!
The fact that they were planning such a thing is very interesting--especially from a US/Russian relations point of view. I would love to be able to see pictures of what was planned. A mini-Kremlin? Hum--would they have included a mini-Lenin's tomb, too?

Several years ago, when they were debating what to do with Lenin, I made the suggestion that someone should buy the body and start a theme-park. They could call it "Communist Land" or "Leninland." All the rides could be similarly themed--like the exile to Siberia voyage. (Just joking, of course).

I wonder if anybody has looked at Disney's connection with Russia. Does anybody out there know?
I still love the story about Khrushchev visiting the US in the 1960s and not being able to go to Disneyland and throwing a fit about it (I would have too, I suppose!)

Thanks!

I know exactly where the new country could go...

There is no need to build a new pavillion. Whatever country is decided upon, let them take over France! They could have a show every night of France turning over the keys to the place. If we decide later, we can always liberate the pavillion back for France.

i voted spain! now that i've seen the 'sample', i'm all for it!! it's gorgeous! but if not spain, i'd either want to see Russia or Egypt (Egypt could be another 'hidden' pavilion like Mexico, only be in a pyramid or the Sphinx..or even the sitting statues carved into the cliff (i'd give anything to remember the name of that place!))
