Today the humidity was at 90%. The temperature was 72-77 degrees at 7am, but overcast. Would you prefer to run in these conditions? Or conditons that are less humid, sunny and the same temperature range. I guess I would choose option two. That is what I'm hoping for tomorrow.

Early morning, zero humidity, a whisp of a breeze coming off the ocean (I live near the beach), the sun peeking out from fluffy white clouds, 70 degrees...ahhh, to dream of ideal conditions...

I would rather run in: 95 and cloudy then 85 and sun beating you down.

I would rather run in: low humidity and sunny than high and cloudy.

Especially down here in the south, it is like a blanket on your back. It feels like a 25 pound weight in your backpack. Just horrible.

Ideal conditions for me is 60 degrees, low humidity and sunny. Air movement is also nice. The air today was just hanging, no movement.

Low humidity outranks low temps in my book.

Unless it is cooler. I actually like to run in the rain. It's not fun, but the mental aspect of s__________g it up and running despite the rain coming down appeals to me.

We cant say s__________g it up. :D

I think the word s__________g needs to be allowed in a runners section. We have to use that word all the time while running.

I choose less humidity. I am curious to see how I like running in the cold weather when it arrives this fall. I just began running in June.....

You will be faster. Much faster.

It will take a few times getting use to your lungs being on fire from breathing the cold air, but I can tell you, I have run in 13 degree weather and I was very comfortable in a long sleeve tech shirt, toboggan, lite gloves, tights and regular shorts.

Takes about a mile for my body to warm up and/or adjust, but after that I fly. I would say it is just as a mental challenge to prepare (getting hyped up) to run in freezing weather as it is 90 degree weather.

I hope the Half in January does not have the record low temps......something in the 50's sounds like it would be perfect!

It's just like a car. Cold air is denser. It has more O2 in per unit volume. When you are pushing your cardiovascular systems, and you start inhaling air with 2% more oxygen in it, it makes a difference.

toboggan? No wonder you fly. Hope on that sucker, point it downhill and away we go....
I'm not familiar with that term with regards to running. I know toboggans as sleds.

But yeah. 30-40s are great running weather. As long as you don't have to stand around outside for 2 hours before and after. (Thanks Disney!! ; ) )

But to the op, I would take the sunny w/no humidity any day. Sunny at least lets me get a healthy glow. It's usually easier for me to breath in as well.

I'd choose 20 degree temps over 90 degree temps for running any day of the week. You just have to learn how to dress properly (layers, wicking gloves and hat, etc.), and be willing to suck up the cold for the first mile, and then you feel great. Plus in the winter I can sleep later before heading out for a long weekend run whereas in the summer I have to be up and out before 7am or I won't be able to deal with the heat. I hate getting up early! (although I happily do it at WDW to maximize my time in the parks! LOL)
