Which character breakfast?

We're considering Ohana and Chef Mickey's for a character breakfast. My kids are 5 and 7. Any opinions on which is better? It looks like the prices and menus are very similar, so I'm looking for some opinions on which to base the decision.

Never been to ohana for breakfast but Chef Mickeys is one of the best. Also look into Crystal Palace, beautiful place good food and it's also kind of cool to get in park when no one eles is there. You won't go weong with ant of the breakfasts:king:

Chef mickeys was amazing when we went in may 2003 we loved it we did breakfast and dinner shawn got so much time with the characters adn food was really good

Haven't eaten at Ohana's yet but I know that Chef Mickey's (and Crystal Palace which was mentioned earlier), is a buffet. That makes a big difference if your kids are picky eaters.

Time for a little dissent, I suppose.

My family really didn't like Chef Mickey's. We did, however, really like O'hana's.

In MK we like Crystal Palace (as was mentioned before), but these characters are always Pooh-related.

In Epcot we liked the Princess Gala (or whatever it was called) at Akershus (sp?) in Norway. That was a good way to see several princesses.

I might be having a brain cramp right now, but isn't there a character breakfast at the Grand Floridian [1900 park fare]? We find that 1900 has the best buffet food of all we have tried.

yeah 1900 park fare has alice and the mad hatter, mary poppins stuff like that I even heard that the Queen of Hearts was there recently
I read in one of the disney books they have villans there sometimes? and that if you kids get scared you should ask about that when making the PS ?
We did teh tea at GF well I did and it was cool I was the oldest one there at 28 but i didnt care:sohappy:

is this the only character meal that the alice in wonderland characters attend?....im having no luck finding them anywhere else....

Im not sure you have toask the Cm's ormaybe start anew thread? I love Alice in wonderland but i didnt see much of them there and i met Alice and the "hatter" at the tea cup ride
I couldnt find any merchandise!

We've went to Chef Mickey's at least 4 or 5 times and O'hana 3 times. With kids 5 and 7, I'd vote for O'hana. They have a parade where music from the Little Mermaid Plays "Under the Sea" and all the kids parade around the room with the characters. The food is good, Mickey waffles, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs and some sort of pineapple bread and it's brought to your table, but you can have as much as you want. Characters are dressed polynesian style. Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale were there and come around to your table.

At Chef Mickey's, it's buffet style, which is also good. Every 15 to 20 minutes, the characters do a little dance and everyone swings their napkins in time. Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale come around and Goofy usually stands by the buffet.

Either place is good, it just depends on whether you want the kids to get up for their food or to get up to parade with the characters.

We've been to both and the kids under 10 seem to have more fun at O'hana's. We went in October, 2003 to O'hana's and it was very slow so the characters spent a lot of time at each table - my son is 15, so he was not as impressed as I was!




At both places, characters come around to your table.

Ohana for breakfast,try Liberty tree tavern for a late lunch early dinner,about 3or 4 pm the place is empty and you have the characters to yourself. worked for us in early June we walked in no reservation.good luck

Chalk one up for Chef Mickeys over Ohanas.... Way better (at CM )selection of food, Monorail goes through the contemporary overhead, and personally (from having a Shy Daughter), She did not like the Ohana's "line" through the restaurant. ... Also the Contemporary grand gallery gives the entire area a much more impressive feel just coming and going.... Enjoy. --- FYI Going to Chef Mickeys on This Friday Morning (8/15)... I'll tell mickey to look for you.

Alice in Wonderland characters

The Grand Floridian has an afternoon "tea" with Alice and the Mad Hatter. My gradndaughters went to it when we were there in July and had an absolute ball. They talked about it for days. You must drop your children off, but they are very well attended to. It lasts for two hours and I think is well worth it for "Alice in Wonderland" fans!

IMHO, I prefer Chef Mickey's because my kids are very picky eaters. I can get exactly what they want off the buffet and no more. Then my wife and I pack them in the strollers and walk off all that food we ate while heading to MK. It makes for a nice walk without too many people.
