Which Buffet?

It guess it is going to depend on what you are in the mood for when deciding where to eat. We really enjoy Boma's for both breakfast and dinner. Trails End is a great when you want the food of Hoop de doo without the show. 'Ohana's is great too. We enjoy Cape May when we are in the mood for seafood.
What I hate most is making reservations 180 days out when I hardly know what I want to eat tomorrow. But we usually go doing to the off season and we can change reservations at the last minute.

Not a buffet, but an all you care to eat plus show is Hoop-De-Doo at Fort Wilderness! In my opinion it is one of the best shows on property. Hilarious and corny. ;). Great barbecue ribs, fried chicken, beer and sangria.

Biergarten is ok. I love the entertainment, but since I grew up in Southern Germany, I was not very impressed with the food.

I make better at home...

Again, personal opinion (of course)

Okay..can you make it a buffet style...and have big mugs of beer...me and a few of my friends from the board will be over...

Haven't been there in a while, but have enjoyed 1900 Park Fare.

I hold a grudge against Tusker House because I loved it before it was a noisy, crowded Character Meal Mess. They ruined its character. So I haven't had dinner there and can't really be counted on for voting purposes.

Boma is really good with a lot to choose from. and the Zebra domes cannot be missed. before or after dinner take time to explore the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the safari paths by it. We even discovered the free make your own smores.

My boyfriend and I are talking about going to a buffet sometime soon but wanted something other than the crystal palace, mostly because we're trying to try new things out on property. We've talked about Boma, and Cape May Cafe, but wanted some other opinions as well. Any suggestions/thoughts?

The food available at all the buffets is about the same. What you have to decide is what characters do you want to eat with. Chef Mickeys has Mickey Mouse. 1900 Cinderella and Alice. The only different one is Akershus they bring you plates of food, meal is with a number of the princesses.

Just stay away from Hollywood and vine!!!!!! Chef Mickeys is loud and just way too much going on, cramped. Cape May Cafe has a great breakfast buffet, and then a nice walk to EPCOT. Boma has so many different things to try, and not being picky eaters will allow you to try everything and have new experience other than the normal American fare. And as another has said, Ohanas is family style, but well worth it. Check out the menus on the dining section on this website.

There are so many options for buffet or All You Care To Enjoy meals at Disney. We love Chef Mickey's for breakfast, but kind of falls short for dinner in my opinion. Ohana is awesome for dinner (not buffet but you can eat til you pop) Boma for breakfast is wonderful (hear its terrific for dinner as well but have not tried it yet) Whispering Canyon Cafe is on our *new restaurants to try this year* list, soooo many choices!!!!

I mentioned Akershus to him, we're pretty much down for anything.
Askershus is great as it is part buffet and part sit down. Appetizers are buffet style and the main course is table service (for dinner.) I have had breakfast as well but I do not recall if it was all buffet. I really enjoyed this experience more than others the princesses seemed to spend more time with the kids IMO.
