Which body of water for you?

I wasn't sure if this thread belonged here or not but I'm currently in WDW and doing one of my favorite things to do here: ride the boats. So I was curious if anyone else shared my passion and posted it here since the bodies of water traveled at WDW are surrounded by resorts. Do you like the lively Crescent Lake?
How about the romantic Sassagoula River (especially at night)? What about the creepy (at night) Bay Lake?
I like them all. I find riding the boat on Crescent Lake to Epcot so I can enter that park through International Gateway relaxing. But it is the boat ride that calms me down after weaving through the crowds at HS. I have some of my fondest memories of WDW on these bodies of water so I wanted to know how you feel.

I too like you love to be out on a boat in the open water and truly love just being taxied around the World!
I really want to pick just one but they all have there own individual beauty that it makes it difficult.

Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon are probably my favorite since you can take quite a long journey from one side to the other and see so many things like the resorts and old attractions that have long been forgotten. Also the views of Bay Lake from the Outer Rim Bar are spectacular and watching the fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant from the Polynesian beach has always been a favorite nighttime event.

Crescent Lake with the joining World Showcase Lagoon is vibrant and exciting with lots of action on and around its waters so it easily is my 2nd favorite

Lago Dorado (CSR) is quiet with beautiful waters full of reflections of the surrounding resort. Honestly there is something so peaceful about this resort and the Lagos waters help to whisk you away to another place and time.

Downtown Disney's Village Lake is a glossy neon glimmering example of Florida's lively entertainment centers and the connecting Sassagoula River is a great example of taking a trip through the swampy forested areas where adventure seems to be around every bend.

Lastly Discovery Bay and River is probably one of the most mysterious bodies of water on the Disney property for me since I have never had the opportunity to travel its water ways. I hope one day we will once again be able to float among its waves even if its just a short jaunt on a Friendship taxi from one stop to the next.

My favorite is Bay Lake. I love sitting on the beach and just looking out over the lake. The boats that can be taken between resorts are awesome and the sound of their horns echoing on the lake provide a mysterious soundtrack. Plus, the lake has so much wildlife inhabiting its shores and water that there is always something to look at.

My second favorite is the Sassagoula River. Peaceful and it sets the atmosphere of PORS so well. It's another place where I can simply sit down and watch the river roll by.

Crescent Lake is my favorite! We love the Boardwalk Resort, and have spent many nights walking around the lake. We also love to rent the surrey bikes and bike around the lake. Or we can just sit happily in the BW chairs overlooking it.

Bay Lake is my favorite. Each trip I take some time early in the morning, right after the launches start running and just take several round trips from the resort to the MK. I almost always have the boat to myself on the return trip. Just a relaxing way to start at least one day on an otherwise busy WDW vacation.

My fondest of Memories is on the Sassagoula River. One we stay most of the time at PORS. Here is our reason why Sassagoula:

1) The DWF and I rented a Deck boat for an hour and drove it to Down Town Disney and parked it at Captain jacks and went and gotten Milk Shakes from Ghiardella's. The DWF and I loved doing this and still laugh about this and felt really special doing so.

2) Having the water Taxi take us back from DTD to PORS is so relaxing and peacful and the DWF always falls aspleep on my shoulder. Just so peacful and relaxing with the moon shinning bright at night.

3) The DWF and I have taken numerous Bass Fishing excusions there and have caught some really good sized Bass. The guide always takes us down the connecting cannals and we get to see some Disney behind the scenes as well.

Sassagoula River definitely. It's fun but still calm. We always stay at POR so the trip to DTD on the water taxi is great, but we also like to rent a boat of our own during the day to enjoy the sun but still feel like we're venturing out. Never disappoints!

Barefoot Bay is a cool one, too.

I remember the waterways used to be jamming with water mice and other rental boats. Not any longer. Disney has outpriced themselves in that area. Obviously
